I have been trying to enroll into UID but i failed to do so because the process is lengthy and the private agency employed for the same is a real dampner.  The  10 post offices selected for a city like bangalore is grossly insufficient, i believe Bangalore One, and other reputed enterprises should be involved to ensure quick processing.  UID is supposed to bringdown corruption according to PM, but i am afraid contrary is going to take place.  Just imagine the application form distributed does not serial no, hard copies or xerox copies all important documents are collected by the private agency are we safe, what is the guarantee that these copies of document are not used for criminal purpose ?  Please share your idea and experience

Oh that is sure way of protecting your documents, so i hope now you agree on the importance of documentation and authentication.  It is a long drawn process now.

Err I didn't disagree in the first place :P.

Back in the FYJC days a peon did this when he bought a sim card. If you're seeing this way, its best if you strike out empty sections (except titled for office use only) in banking documents. I've seen few agents (especially who open corporate a/c) applying for credit card and stuff on the form without applican't knowledge/consent.
