Can your blog live on its own if you supply just new posts periodically ?
Think of the following situation:
- You schedule blog posts for a year.
- You won't promote your blog anywhere.
- You won't be replying to comments.
- You won't be asking your friends everytime you meet them to check out your blog.
After one year, will your blog still be alive?
I mean to ask if you have any faithful readers for your blog? If yes, how many?
Reason: minor edit
Interesting thread again.. but i think this is very situational!
A Blog can live on its own if you have all basics covered. Posting frequency is always a dependency for repeated visits.
All you need to do is, make sure you have SEOed your blog properly and make sure Google and Yahoo (Bing!) to read it. And hope things fall in place lolz

@ Hemal No one seems to give the answers that I expect. I was asking in specific about your blog and not in general. :-)
It majorly depends on the type of the Content You post. For example A blog like TheSiteWizard.com have capacity of living more than 2 years even if it's author feeds it nothing. Because the content inside it do not get older as it is all about website creation , promotion etc. Also they do have good PR so they will never lack visitors . But a blog like mine and the blogs many of us will die sooner if we do not feed it.!
My blog has shown around 15-20 hits per day during the period I have completely ignored it for months together. When I post, I also promote. So don't know how many hits I will get it I only post.
Glad to see your answer at last. Informative blogs like yours always have an edge over others with respect to search engines.
