To the best of my knowledge, Technorati was the first blog networking platform. Things like digg, reddit, stumbleupon came later and fb and twitter even after that.

The biggest advantage of Technorati vs the others is that it affects your Google Page Rank. So when other people add your blog to their Technorati fave list, it bumps up your Technorati authority, which is turn bumps up your GPR.

Technorati is also the most respected measure of a blog's popularity. The number one blog in the world is Huff Po and you will find very few people on the Internet, let alone bloggers, who will argue with this one!

Therefore... while there will be a new redd/digg/buzz styled sharing platform popping up everyday, there will only be one Technorati.

Technorati in last few days has become very erratic. Their ping servers are not working well hence the rankings aren't that accurate these days. But considering their past records, technorati ranks still retain their credibility (authority).

No its not d solution, cos its happening with many people maybe all of us. Few days back i visited d support section (forum), official word is they are working on it.

Yep I was not able to claim my blog either..guess some prob with their servers. Thinking its a waste I deleted my account too. Now seeing that this is with everyone I guess I'll wait till its up and create one again. Thanks for the info.

I haven't bothered much about technorati. Is it really important or a good idea to join technorati??

Going by what 'Healthy Living India' has said i think it wud be a gud idea... but i think its useless if their ping serves donot start working rite. U cud do what i have done... join and wait.
