Yeah it is the same for me. At least as far as I know we need our own domain for adsense approval.

Pooja, its not a mandate that you need to have your own domain for Adsense approval.

Your blog should have valid content, no content priracy that is. Plus it should have enuf content, i guess a good base minimum of 100 posts would convince. However, you should also have to do it more frequently.

Make sure whatever your blog link is, backlinks are not coming from any of the bad websites. So make sure you dont comment on blogs/website that you dont trust.

It takes some patience to have your adsense account approved. but keep blogging and you will surely land one.

There are other ad service providers too like Brite etc. You can search thru the forum for other tips and tricks.

Yeah I have a 100+ posts and am pretty regular..

However adsense's mail clearly mentioned the non-applicability because I don't have my own domain..

You cant host ads on free Wordpress.com accounts. Wordpress.com restricts users from using Javascrip and Flash, two components that are required for Ads to be delivered on your blog.

If you can afford around Rs. 2000 a year, you can go for a self hosted blog, with a domain name of your choice. You can find a neat hosting for Rs. 1500 a year, plus another Rs. 500 for a domain if you are going for generic TLDs.

Limit your blog home page to a maximum of 5 posts. Since you have a nice recipie blog with so many pics, you should avail the Read More funcationaliy that Wordpress offers.

Use a proper Alt tag for all images. Make sure you have the dish name on all Image Alt tags. In Wordpress, when you import images, you fill up the form fully and neverleave it empty. That way you are telling Search Engine spiders what these images contain.

Though Blogger allows ads more liberally than wordpress.com but its not the same .

So for a long term if you are thinking about earning some money from your blog, first invest something. Get a Domain and Hosting...
