an interesting thought!Frankly I never thought much of it till you reminded me-just put whatever was at hand.

I must hunt for a suitable profile picture -hence doing with a logo:))

Hi sujith ! u r the first person to tell me this ! First thing, this is the word that best defines me ! and second, therefore I love to be called that! 

 I am quite restless and my mind keeps asking me questions, that's the reason I started to blog. So I am absolutely happy being called restless!!

The whole aura of mystery fades if I reveal too much about myself.. and yes, I do reveal a lot about myself through what I write, esp in some of the older posts! And will def be doing so bit by bit... Don't worry! The personal aspect lies in the fact that what I write is what I think, it can be just purely random stuff that I dish out, or a little anecdote out of my life. My life exists in snippets on the blog.

I'd agree with Aldeena, I have read her blog upside down (and I believe vice versa too) also, we have had loads of conversation, yet the mystery remains. And this makes it interesting indeed!

When I was new on this forum, i was looking for interesting blogs, and first thing u see is the pic of the blogger. And believe me, I liked the pic. I mean a 20 something, obviously in this age, u r confused, u r unhappy with system, parents, have bonding troubles, girl friend issues and all that. This pic showed someone who is sensitive to all this and somehow feels one with the nature, the Supreme power ( the spread arms gesture)

This is my reading about the pic.  And since I know u as a blogger now, a blogger pal u r ( and u call me sis too), I know it very well that what is getting reflected in this pic is exactly what is there in your blog.

But on a serious note, ur two blogs - one on Internet and blogging and the other on travel, both are very meticulously worked upon. Very impressive ways of putting useful info in both. there is versatality in the internet blog, it was nice. But i cudnot see ur profile or info about u there.  comments were off in travel blog.

Once again I would say dear Gouri, picture speaks so much, u said, urs doesnot say anything.  Its not a reflection of your blog, the kitty i mean, is it a reflection of your personality ?  If u r a cat lover then, surely you admire yourself. Mine is a true picture of exactly how I look in real life. No PhotoShop there... ;) On a serious note, I never thought that an image could work in favor/against getting a reader to visit. But maybe it does.

Image plays a major role. With the kind of unisex profile name you have, the only way to find if you're a guy or a gal is by the profile pic. And be it a social networking site or blog or Las vegas, pretty gals attract more traffic.

What does ur profile name mean - I never had french in my school, how am i supposed to know it? so the confused blogger, you have managed to confuse me.

Don't be happy when i say this, as I could never go to the land so confusing ( read your blog) because the pic always looked strange, had symmetry but lacked aesthetics and was scary.

Never thought about it. I always thought that content and the look and feel of the site is all that mattered. So, this is some enlightenment for me. I just put up a picture of mine that looks ok and even tend to change it from time to time. Looks like I'll have to put some more thought henceforth. What's your take on changing the pic every now and then just so that you don't bore your readers?

I think the blog title / post title attracts more traffic than the picture itself....  You can write an amazing blog but dont care enough for the pic.. i dont think it will not work.

'Profile' means the profile of the blogger and not of the blog. Blogs should not be judged by the profile picture. True that photos of good looking girls attract the attention of surfers, especially male, but the interest ends with being satisfied with the larger view of the photo and not beyond. Use of copyrighted photos is also the point that restrains me from using fascinating images.

Hello Sanjayji, u got me wrong. absolutely wrong. I didnot start this thread to encourage people to use others' copyrighted pics as their profile pics.  Rather, to use their own pics of self in a better way keeping in view the flavour of the blog.

People using simple photos meaning no wierd angles and things, are just right.  Like in your case, you are using a self picture and you look friendly and approachable, and so is the shade of your blog. Its simple and encourages interaction with the reader.

I would say u c the link of the post i have given in the beginning, u will understand what i want to say.
