New Feature - Launch of IndiVine
Hello bloggers! We've just launched IndiVine - a collection of blog posts under topics, controversies, events or anything that's buzzing in the blogosphere today. We have 2 topics as of now - the Mumbai terror attacks (144 posts) and blogging rights. So if you have blogged about either of these topics - go ahead and add your posts now!
You can also suggest your own topics.
Check out IndiVine now and post your feedback!
renie i like this idea is great
should i add my post using reply or how should i add my post.

I've added your post under Mumbai Terror Attacks on IndiVine. You can submit a post yourself by clicking on the "Add Post" button. Keep blogging!
Nice one Renie! This will get people to read different posts on same topic. I think we should have a Track this topic facility for this too. When bloggers write about an ongoing incident like Mumbai attach, or Pink chaddi etc, they can get a mail whenever anyone updates that topic with their post. What say?
That sounds good man. I'll add a feed first and then email alerts?
Absolutely cool! Brilliant idea. Indiblogger is going from strength to strength.
Perhaps you should give another shout to the Indian bloggers to join up and participate actively. You could highlight this new feature.
Yep, lots of mailers going out today actually, to various parts of India. IndiBloggies, Blogger meets at Bangalore, Bhopal & Jaipur, BlogCamps in Delhi, Bangalore.... whew! This is a busy year for us bloggers!
Thumbs Up from me too.. it is a really great idea...
@Renie,
Great idea.... and aa very useful feature
@ Renie - Very Cool! This is really a neat idea!
On 'IndiVine' (by the way, love the name!) is there a possibility to have an option of choosing 'controversies' or 'events' while adding a new topic? The reason is for example, if all the 'events' are listed under one place, it would be easier to find out about them.
This would be more helpful if there are lots of posts. Just a thought!
Hey Adarsh - yep, as we have more topics, we'll start grouping them!
Awesome! Thanks Renie!
Adarsh - Actually even I love the name. Vine... May be because it sounds like Wine!
Anyway, this is certainly a cool feature for us bloggers. Lets seriously start some topics to talk about.
Actually it's a take on "GrapeVine" and "In-Divine".
I wrote this poem in retrospect. It has been long enough that we have been cursing the terrorists(with good reasons though). but maybe we should look at ourselves too. They have the power to kill but they don't have the power to do all wrong...

Wow! that was amazing! it's informative, more fun to read, and an ease to find our topics!
Hope there'll be more interesting categories and collections!
Hey man - check now!
Guys, some of you have suggested a few topics - we'll get them online as soon as we complete a little restructuring of IndiVine - dividing them into categories, adding related and official links (if any), references to wikipedia, etc.
Can DLF IPL be included as an event at IndiVine?
fantastic.. great addition to an already great site..
@Renie, is it possible to add a poll feature to Indivine? That way we can also get the general opinion in the community at a glance on controversial topics while reading the various blog posts too..
great idea but tech bloggers like me cannot take part in this
We are coming up with categories for tech bloggers as well - the only problem is keeping IndiVine from becoming another digg!
@Rennie
I think there are far too many blogs on Indiblogger and there is no way to find out the best ones. There should be some kind of rating mechanism as well as some measure that tells us when was the blog started and how many posts have been up since then. This is an indicator of how regular the blogger is updating the blog.
Moreover, the blogs should be divided in to categories. For instance, i blog at http://sandywriter.blogspot.com/ and my posts are largerly on Indian Politics. At the same time I am interested to know the viewpoint of others on politics and would like to search other similar blogs.
In my opinion, Indivine should have categories and sub-categories. Each category will have an moderator . Users can create sub-categories to discuss or post their blogs. The moderator can delete a sub-category of move it to its appropriate location. I am willing to be the moderator for the politics category.
The present system isn't the best. I hope u wud find my suggestion useful.
Hey Sandy, I guess you didn't read what I said about IndiVine (scroll up a bit!):

As for the ranking - you're in for a surprise. We're testing it out now and it's working better than we expected!
Putting blogs into categories - I don't believe this works. There are too many blogs which have a mixture of various things. I think tags are the best way - which IndiBlogger already has!
It is a great idea. It will help bloggers to gather certain unknown facts and change/correct their views by going to the particular topic. I have made a comment about the terrorist attack in my blog "arvindsdad.blogspot.com"
Nice Idea Renie...
keep up the Good work!!!
We'll be working on this in a few days - we're launching something else today, making final tweaks right now.
3 new topics added for now - DLF T20, Ragging and Elections 2009.
Thanks Renie.
