Hatemail and hate comments

Has anyone here received mail or comments on your blog that was malicious, profane or hateful? I'm just curious to know if any bloggers are hated for their opinions or the way they lead their lives. And how do the receipients deal with it?

My blogger friend from Australia Keshi receives loads of that stuff. I recently got my first hate comment on my blog. I have been over the moon since. *grin*

Hate comment i guess is only possible, when you have content that might hurt others centiment, emotions and so on. As a rule, everyone thinks different and contradictions might arise, play safe is the best option. Thats my concept which has left me with zero hate mail or comment

Thank you all for your replies.

I have received many...not exactly profane but extremely negative. In fact, I keep them and reply gently. That helps in the long run. Many jerks use it as a mechanism to drive traffic to their blogs :)

Probably for male bloggers it is a bit easier to take on them. I heard that many bloggers from the fair sex had pretty bad comments when they did the pink chaddi campaign.

@ ajith: I welcome all comments and criticism. I was more surprised than angry when I received that hate comment. I religiously keep out all inappropriate content, profanity etc from my blog. So a comment with the F word (and others) isn't what I'd want to see there. Still I haven't removed the comment.

Well, seems like the God of luck smiled on me. I have recieved 3 hate posts on the corporate blog site of my organization. Don't know how to react though (specially because the posts were so kiddish), se decided to ignore it.

Have recieved a couple, the best solution is to keep mum and continue blogging unless of course the bastards go overboard, in that case start moderating em.

@ choco: what reply could he/ she have given to that?

@ ernest: that post was just for laughs. Those who regularly read my blog got what I wanted to say.

@ Hashir: Three of them! Now I am jealous. :p

@ Anup: Lol. And yeah, what a climb it has been!

@ Cyril: I agree that ignoring or deleting them is the best way of dealing with them if there are too many.

Hmmm, really? Moderating them? Nah, I'd have fun with them if I were that lucky! :/ My readers thus far have only left for me a dish of loveable spam messages. I love them. They just want to spread love and nothing else.
