Slumdog Millionaire - did anyone watch it?
I'm impressed and this one is sure a keeper.
However, there are some who have different opinions about this movie, for instance Amitabh mentioned that this movie creates a bad impression on Mumbai and India aswell and so did IIPM's geekoid Arindam Chaudri.
I guess Amitabh was pissed off coz he felt that he could have done Anil Kapoor's role and could have been a golden globe nominee.
Arindam made some senseless post on the movie and advertised it on today's paper (Hindu). I have no clue what inspired him to make a frikkin fool of himself but i will respond through my blog. hehehe ....i'm such a bad ass
so , have you watched the movie and how do you rate it ?
for me, this is a top rank type movie and can be placed next to movies like , City of God and Carandiru. what say you????
btw, i gave more attention to Frieda Pinto...she is so fine

I accept Slumdog is a nice movie. Definitely better than other movies but comparing it with City of Gods, Children of Heaven or Carandiru is not so right.
It was the hype and hoopla surrounding it that has made the movie more popular. And I am dead against the Best Pictur nomination for it. I dunno how Wall E didn't fit the bill when Slumdog could..

Hmm.. I'm actually looking forward to watch the movie. Will let you know if I found it good or not soon.
i sooo liked the movie.. considering i did watch with my British friends.. and i had to answers questions about our slums.. considering it was depicted quite well..
i heard the small kids who played the roles of jamal n salim are actually from the slums.. dont know how far the rumours are though.. because those kidsss were tooo convincing..
i do agree that Big B must be really feeling bad that he's not part of this movie.. n thus his initial reviews about the movie was bad..
Sylvian i think rightly deserved its place in the best picture.. the movie was depicted well considering its an adaptive screenplay.. n u kind of feel sad.. n get engrossed in the movie.. and thats what good picture is all about.. how much ever one wants to forget that this is how ppl are still in our country..
