Getting paid for doing a review of another blog

Hi,

In the past few days the only thing I have been doing is asking for help.

But this time I am stumped. I received a request to do a paid review of another blog site on my blog. Unfortunately, the blog on which I am supposed to do a review is not even remotely connected to the subjects I deal with (though with some effort I can make it gell). My questions to you are as follows:

1) Does any one else have any experience about this? Could that person share his/her experience.

2) Is it ethical to do so?

3) Is it a scam?

So, in other words: HELP!

Note: I don't know how much money is involved, but cannot be huge.

I am not an expert on blogger ethics but here I have tried to answer your questions,

1.   No, I don't have any experience, so, all that I am saying below is purely my opinion and not tried-n-tested.

2.   Since the request was from the person in front of you (assuming it was his own blog), I don't think there is anything un-ethical about it as long as your review is clear-honest-straightforward

3.   Since you yourself never advertised/promoted yourself for distributing paid reviews thus it cannot be labelled as a scam

Now, the Blogger's Ethics can help you only to some extent at the end of the day it is your own ethics, conscience and decision that will declare it a strict no-no or a clear go-ahead.

Please do tell me if this helped you.

1) Well, I have reviewed products in my blog for money, but not reviewed another blog.

2) I don't see why its unethical. You review another blog on that owner's request. So thats not unethical.

3) May be. Cos, since you DID NOT advertise and still you got the opportunity, it could be a scam! I'd say probe a little more about the blog and its owner before you put your time and effort on it.
