Do you think Win7 is faster than Vista. The fact is there is no much difference in Visa and Win7. Read it at my blog http://techfreakindia.blogspot.com/2009/01/is-windows-7-faster-performance-of.html

I don't know. I have not check the OS yet. Not interested either. Windows vista itself failed to impress me. So did ME and 2000.

I'm not against MS, but just that I'm not satisfied with their OS' performance. Even now, their own security update can crash the OS.

At home I have an iMac. So I am cool, ain't I?

At office, we wouldn;t jump from OS to OS that rapidly, so sorry canot help you there, techfreak. Will check up your blog now for input.

Right techfreak, checked your blog.

Not sure what the numbers mean (3.1 vs 3.2) but a 64bit OS should be able to handle larger computations easily. It should also have less rounding off error and trncation errors. Soperhaps it is of more use to the scientific world, no?

Frankly, I work on systems (embedded for aerospace domain) that prefers no OS at all. So what I commented above may be all gibberish. Would really like to enlighten me.

Thanks.

I've heard reports that Win 7 boots 20% faster than Vista... but who really cares about boot time these days? What's important is the speed at which you can get work done, and I'm glad they made win 7 a little less obtrusive.

@Amitabh : Win7 is at beta stage. So one can look at it from "exploring" point of view only or just out of curiosity.Even i am not sure weather offices will go for it so easily.Anyway i visited your blog and postings, it is really impressive.

@Renie Ravin : So you seems to be familiar with win 7. At this stage , it appears to be fast because it is largely free from "regular updates , patches , hot-fixes". Once theses are in place , i doubt how effectively it would out perform the Vista or PX. lets see.
