Do women bloggers have more readers than Men?
I know I know.. a topic on the lighter side.. but I still wanna know ! LOL
@ Zombie - I don't have a clue dude. But first, are there more women bloggers than Men? At least in India?
Also if the woman has posted a pic of hers, and she 'appears' to be single, i believe they actually get more than the average number of comments irrespective of the blog topic!
No offence intended, just an observation.
heheheheh.... i guess thats very true !
yes nanda, it is very true. ask yourself :P
absolutely without doubt!!
@ Anwin : That is good observation and thats some research :)
@ nanda : Ha ha.. yes I should agree with you on that and no offence at all intended .. use what you got I say..lol
A similar observation can be made also in the 'Review my blog' section on these forums!
Hmm... so looks like Women out number us here.
okies
then if women bloggers have more readers.. there are more men readers among them
Nope!
The only type of blogs that attract unprecedent traffic that
a) tells you how to earn money by blogging, and
b) talks about gadgets
And these are pretty much gender independent.
I have not come across any sleazy / explict blogs so will not be able to tell about those. But something (experience?) tells me these will be blogs by males and will draw traffic too. I may be wrong here (grown old)
As someone who has moderated a few thousand blogs, I've seen quite a few sleazy blogs - and yes, it does appear that they have traffic, as one of the most searched for terms on IndiBlogger (via google) is "india sex blogs".
@ Everyone : I did not mean just traffic.. comments are the main thing.. and even if traffic is not high.. most of the time women seem to get a loooot of comments on a simple blog post .. LOL... nothing against it.. power to the women!
I agree Anoop! And as it has already been pointed out above... its mostly those female blogs, that have a nice display pic of the female blog author, that get the most comments/followers (who are again, mostly, males)!
For example, if 2 female bloggers write more-or-less in the same way, but one has her own pic on display and the other doesn't, the first one will get more readership, even if she posts like maybe once a month, while the other posts every week!
Btw, you guys are responsible for this... those of you for whom "looks" always take a priority over "content". Thankfully though, there are some sensible males too... who recognize a good read even if they can't identify the author! :D
Well,
Reading blogs is like viewing profiles on Orkut ;) [I think guys ll agree on this]
Men readers usually visit and read every word, comma n full stops on a women's blog !!!
I have read many blogs where many men comments on women's blog just to start social links.
Again as 'Sirharsha' wrote, if content is good everyone ll read it irrespective of u r men, women or both ... :D
Every1 say yes..yes..yes. But no one dare to prove this. I mean what we see in blog-stats is simply no. of people who visited them & nothing like No. Of Men Readers or Women readers. So hw can we conclude out this as true?.
And also its not that if 20Men has commented then it means out of 50hits there would more men readers only. Becoz....Who know? Who had actually visited to add next 30 hits?
So what matters is just content, presentation & your hidden talent..
@ Prabhjot, you can check out my blog and all comments, 90% comments from men. and I know few Female readers also visit my blog but never post a comment. and followers of my blog are mostly men.
wel.. sab ki apni apni pasand ,apni apni soch...
dear dude, ask yourself to know the truth. A man might visit any blog looking for information.
But when a man is stumbling or is on a free diet to read anything, and if he see's a female blog, he would prefer to read it over any other male's blog...
Interesting topic. I dont know the answer and if what most people have been saying is true, I should be getting a few more comments on my blog.
Waiting and seeing...
Personally I've also observed the same......despite my immense publicity n all I don't get much traffic compared to women bloggers
I guess women network a lot. It increases the blog's popularity. Also there are a whole lot of women bloggers out there
So, congrats :D
Well,
1. Make friends with the commentator,
2. Get chatting,
3. Make friends with the commentator's friends too,
4. Get chatting there too
Ten to one, there will be a lot of common areas of interest and business. Do not forget to comment on each and every one of their blogs. It works out in the end.
Dont the guy bloggers do this too?
@ Hakuna... :D
Yupp they do... and in time, they build up a decent reader-base too! It just takes them more time though... than what it would have taken them, had they been a female with one of their cute pics on display! :D
Yes. Yes. Yes.
check out the responses generateed to querries on the forum, that'd give you and idea!!!
the blog review requests for women bloggers get more review than anyother guys.
@ Hemal: I got only 9 reviews... 'coz I don't have my own pic on display! :(
Basically it depends on niche on which you are comparing
plus on g33ky topics I think men rule but on emotional topics gals have edge
Well, I think it depends upon the content...if the content is good any blogger will have readers irrespective of gender. I don't think gender plays any significant role here
Though one thing is there - I think more women run personal blogs as compared to men and its easier to relate to and comment on personal posts than on specific / niche ones. So, maybe thats why this impression...
commenting is a different story. reading the blog itself is compensated. Avg man reads 20 - 30 % male blogs and rest are female blogs.
I dont think so Because mainly Content & presentation matters..
the Blog with right content & right keyword would be at top when you will search for an article in any search engine. For example :- most posts of mine comes at the top in google.
"Google Dont Says its women's blog or men's Blog" LOLZ :)
Its true that, In a shorter version when we have any poll girls attract more people, But if the content or presentation is not good people will not visit there again.............
Hey y'all .. thanks a bunch for your replies ... another funny thing this morning.. I saw a post where there were about 63 comments on a post of a female blogger .. for a post that simply stated she was depressed that morning .. LOL .. so content? really doesnt seem to matter he he
63 comments for a single line post?? !!! Anoop which blog is that?
:D
There u go...
