Taxes on domain renewal?
Hie,
Did any of you recently renew your domain address? Last year, I renewed mine for 635 rupees. But I checked on godaddy today for this year's renenwal and the bill sums up to more than 800 bucks. There is a tax amount of 119 rupees(including ICANN fees) that wasn't there last time.
Is this new or I was just enjoying an offer last time? Please enlighten. Aaj kal har jagah tax he tax.

Yes. Local taxes now apply. To be fair, its the same in other countries too. Even purchase game codes from platforms like Steam now have 15% tax.
