english words in Indian context
Can someone give a list of words that are more common in India than in any other english speaking nation?
From my side, there are words like "super", "that only", etc.
Yogeshwar, did you mean conversational English ?
There are specific examples of 'Indian English' too. For example, in India, what we know as 'Brinjal' is called as 'Aubergine' or 'Eggplant' in other English-speaking countries.
Interesting topic! How about "Peter"? (meaning an Indian who speaks in English?)
I have heard of 'Peter'. Also 'Thames' (a reference to River Thames in England!) for an Indian who speaks a lot in English, though he knows other languages!!!!
Hmmm... interesting topic. Here's a few..

You only told no - Its you who said it.

Good responses..
