Vlogging Contest: The power of constructive parenting
Vlog an interactive experience with your kids to win Flipkart Vouchers and Lego sets
Details: https://www.indiblogger.in/topic.php?topic=173
Deadline is very near. But why 10.39 am?
Muhurat
can you please tell me what it meant by july 31 , 10.17 am. i am new to blogging
and is it a contest?
Yes, Ritika, it's a video blogging contest. You will have to buy the new Colgate pack and ask your kid to cut out the figures given inside the coverpack. While he would be playing with them, you will have to take a video and also have to write a blogpost about it.
After you have finished writing your post, you may submit it on the contest page here by clicking on the "Submit your Entry" button. The last date of submission is July 31st (and that too before 10:39 a.m.).
@Ritika @Amit Deadline extended: Contest closes on Mon 10 Aug, 2015 11:59 pm.
Oh, have they extended the deadline? I han't noticed that
Hahaa previously brands were at least sending free samples and now they want us to buy too! I would take my kid to the beach and let him have fun with sand castles than buying Colgate packets and manipulate the little mind in such silly ways.... [Sigh]
If they're getting a coverage out of it, its not free. Not even close. Its ROI, even if the person doesn't win.
they didn't force you, right? ...taking part is one's own prerogative I suppose. how manipulating minds et all comes in the picture?
@The Sorcerer: Right... right... right dude!
@Nandini Deka: Neither did I request my fellow bloggers to boycott this contest, right? I just expressed my opinion (which is of course against this campaign) as I found it not so favorable for the trend-setting of blogosphere.
@Rio De La Sciocco: Hi5 Dada...
OK..so had they sent free samples...then wouldn't it have been the alleged manipulating the little mind in silly ways too? Or it would have been fine then. ( curious)
Slightly modifying Anunoy's comments, to make a video of their product, wouldnt u send the product first ?
Making a purchase mandatory is quite against the rules set by any contest of IB. Hope admins look into it.
Look Karthik, "Making a purchase mandatory is quite against the rules set by any contest of IB" is not technically right because every contest has its set of T&Cs which one accepts while submitting his post for the same. So, it's not violation of any rule as such, but, more like setting unfavorable trends for bloggers in blogosphere... and there lies my agony. [Sigh... I'm talking too much of trends of late!]
contest closing date changed to 10 Aug
August 10th.....
I don't have kids as am not married..So won't be able to take part in this one .
@Mohit, you should have followed your Mom's advice 3 years before only
Judging by the requirements over here, sponsors are expecting professional looking video testimonial/ad potentially for free.
Lets think about it: Has to be in landscape (okay, fair enough), video output should be well lit (err...okay), video output is to be stable, not shaky (not sure how that would be possible since most people will be using the camera on their mobile phones), proper grammar (okay...), dead air should be edited out (wut?). and the other two points.
Assuming they want in such a level of professional exposure, monetary compensation should be there for those who fulfill all the above mentions. Also, will these videos (irrespective of the winners or not) be used in advertisements? I am all up for vlogging, but not everyone can have brightly lit indoor setups or no shaky videos. The sponsors have to be realistic and Indiblogger should ease up on the rules for the benefit of long term to encourage more and more people to be vloggers.
Some of these rules should be relaxed. That too the sponsors expect people to buy the stuff. Its not healthy to see a particular blog post to look like an artificially scripted videos and even embedding the ad playlist. I know nobody is forcing, but how would one expect to encourage vloggers when such rules are there to prevent the general blogging public from participating.
Yea even those shud be compensated who want to take part but cannot because they can't produce a kid at such short notice
These video rules are a copy paste from the colgate's valentine happy hour. :P There were many videos which didn't follow the rules but still got the vouchers...
That was close-up HH
Assuming there wouldn't be more than 100 entries, (all) contestants will be compensated with a lego set. Yet, it would have been better if they had sent at least a 50 g product for registered members like the pasta one. May be instead of the lego set, to avoid the mandatory purchase thing.
Sigh.........
Couldn't participate in previous vblogging HH because of being single now will have to pass because "no kids".... Uff I hope next vblogging contest isn't about marriage of kids
Will it be okay if I shoot myself playing with the cut-outs and the castle in my video ? I am a kid too, albeit a badda kid
Are you 18 yet Amit...? [Surprised and shaken wala smile]
To tell you the truth, Anunoy, sometimes I feel like I am still in my diapers
Topic seems interesting.. no doubt about that.. buying toothpaste isn't an issue either... nor making the video...but, the problem is I am 22 and I'm not yet married... Kids to door ki baat... :(
If everything else interest you, use a kid from your neighborhood... If you don't win any GV, you can gift him/her the lego set later... sounds okeish?
There isn't any age limit and honestly there isn't any technical limit on being labelled as 'kids'. Infront of our parents and old people, we'll always be kids.
Thanks so can I make the video staring me as the kid? I have no issue buying toothpaste as I use it anyways.
That's a nice idea.....
now, we can always say that the kid is independent and self-sustainable. The first living thing that crawled out of this planet's mud didn't exactly have parents too.
Rio ur first comment slashed my hope..but ur second comment resurrected it..so can i go ahead?
Oops second comment is by TS ...
1 reflects your originality. So that's a good chance.
why is this contest not reflecting in the IB home page among other contests? please enlighten me
now on air...visible...
Those who don't have kids, use a teddy bear in place of the kid :P
you guys can borrow my dog Romeo...he's quite sweet...or try your neighborhood raju or pintoo or kareena or yes there is a fawad near my building too lolzzz
The Close Up Happy Hour video had been lucky for me. I think I am going to try this one too.
But about the packs, do we need to buy all 3 or any one? Can somebody from Colgate please clarify? Renie, please help!
PS: Indistatus shows that 5 people have already posted. So guys, what have you done? 1 pack or all 3?
in rules its not mentioned....only in banner its said collect all 3 packs...so i guess its ok to use 1

Still no response from Colgate or Inditeam
I checked at big bazaar only one pack is available right now..now I have Colgate pack, kids but don't know how to make a video ?? :p
Anyone who can help me with video making and editing..?
Just got this done. and super happy with #PrincessHeer at being such a sport and at my amatuer video editing skills.
Posted a different take on the topic, since me and my daughter may be the most 'mature' kids on the block!
Back to the days of art and craft, this post is dedicated to all children and their lovely parents.
