It's not the first time a blogger has been plagiarized or has become a victim of plagiarism. And this time Its my turn to face such a trouble...

This is my blogpost which was originally written on Jan 13, 2013 -->  http://sulaimansait.blogspot.in/…/the-city-of-pearls-and-fo…And, On 4th May 2015 (say a month or so ago) it was copied and posted on a blog by someone named Ranjith , and here is the link to this --> https://apueverdaycity.wordpress.com/…/the-city-of-pearls-…/I tried finding his social media presence or any such way by which I could reach the page admin/author but failed to find any social media trace...I've left a comment on that post, and haven't found any reply as yetI would be glad if any of you could help me see this post off his page...

Sulaiman, it'd be advisable to find more such posts (if any) on the said blog, and report the matter to IndiTeam. That way, it'll work more smoothly, and that blogger will atleast be kicked out of IB, if found guilty.

@Sulaiman, that URL of DMCA is just for Wordpress site (copied) related one, and for Blogspot (copied), one has to use this link https://support.google.com/legal/troubleshooter/1114905?rd=1#ts=1115645 (after Google/Blogspot Sign-In and follow the procedure given). Laughing

Just report it to WordPress. Plagiarism is common now. Even Tier 1 brands rip stuff from content makers.

Yes... I reported It to WordPress and they have pulled down the plagirizers post...

Yeah. When you report, they care of it. Even google doesn't entertain copyright infringement. This is the case when Asus India ripped off a content maker's youtube video:gbdoaYN.png

How do one check if their post is copied?

Google your post words

One way to check if any of your post is copied is by having a plagiarism checker on your blog/ visiting a plagiarism checker website. Once you eneter your blog url it will search online for similar content. A few are accurate, while many plagiarism checkers are just name sake... Also as Rio Mentioned - you can google you blogpost words- google will give you similar results.

For me, a simple google search with some words from some random post works wonders. And although, the content I used to create till now wasn't such that anyone would have cared to copy it, however, in my case, plagiarism of images was a horrible thing, I had to deal with, and I still do check one of my images randomly to try and find if they've been plagiarised.

Here is another plagiarism case, but this is how the owner of the blog defended herself:

We REALLY need a wall of shame and put up website name.

Damn, this is sick... Can't one preserve the right to blog anonymous...

Actually, I don't hide my name. But I've been using my nickname more than my name since 12 in tech forums and websites. People don't recognise me with my real name, but does with my nickname. So.... :D. Its hardly anonymous. Sort of like a 'personal' brand name.

Whether one wants to blog under their own name or under a pseudonym - the choice is entirely the author's. And the readers/subscribers are more interested in the content than anything else. As Shakespeare himself said, 'What's in a name...'
