Welcome! First time here? Please read the rules of the forum
IndiBloggers! Now that we finally have our discussion forum for Indian bloggers up and running, here's what you need to know:
- Flaming is not allowed. If you're unfamiliar with the term, please note that we are not talking about lighting yourself on fire. For a definition of what flaming is, go here.
- Please respect other bloggers on the forum, keeping in mind that they have a right to an opinion as much as you do.
- This forum is aimed at a general audience. Posting pornographic or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will be frowned upon, and we may tell your mother about you.
- No advertising, and no spamming. Of course, you may promote your own blog, but only in the "Review My Blog" category. Please don't promote your own products and services unless it's relevant to Indian bloggers. For example - you may promote a widget that you developed, but you will not be allowed to promote styling gel, no matter how good it makes you look.
- We request all bloggers with experience to patiently help newbies in the "Blogging Beginners" category.
- Since we've seen many forums with features that users don't need or don't understand, we have launched this forum in a barebones format. We'll add features as and when the need is felt - so please send in suggestions and bug fixes!
- Please refrain from any obscene dance movements on this forum, as our server is easily distracted.
Enjoy, and remember - we love feedback!

Whether you read the rules or not, whether its first time violation or not, moderation is equal for everyone. Excessive spammers who disregard mod warnings (deleting the thread itself is a clue that it's violating the rules) will eventually be banned. If you're banned. you lose access to Indiblogger and therefore lose access to meets, contests and lots more! :(. Community works with the community takes care of their own access.

I think this is the first post of IB which has remain active over four years!!!
Thanks Renie.... but can you plz share the link for "Blogging Beginners". Thanks!!
I'm slowly discovering all the features. I think from now on go through some of the forums. Thanks.
Great..hope to take part and make Indiblogger forum a success !
I think I read the all the rules and FAQ's well but in a thread about wordpress bloggers where hundreds of links were shared and in which the person who actually started the thread also shared a link, mine was isolated out. I think the rules said there shouldn't be any self promotion, it was not. If the problem was there then the thread should have been deleted earlier. I posted only after it started showing in the latest activity section. It should have been deleted at that point. Further there was no gain for me as my by posting at Indivine we already get link back.
Even after making my point clear there were still comments against me which I seriouly didn't like. I think you should check that in whose part was the negligence at the first place and then comment. I thought the first point said FLAMING is not allowed. I'm active or not should not be anyone else's concerned. It's like spying as they have never communicated with me before.
Hi guys,
I had a query. I recently updated my username (and hence the URL of my blog) in Wordpress. This means the url of my blog has changed but the blog and its contents remain the same. How can I update it in indiblogger also ? Please do note that I've already posted several blogposts here which link to the older URL. How can this problem be dealt with ? TIA.
Raise a ticket through contact us/get support....Even I changed my blog URL few months ago and did the same.IB will update it once u raise the ticket :)
Leon was the first blogger to respond on this thread... 5 years ago. Interested to know where he is now... and the others. How many bloggers continue to blog after 5 years?
ah Arvind I have got a vacation from law studies so am giving most of my time for blogging. Arvind I will definitely like to know what Leon is doing now. Arvind blogging has become famous now, previously earning from blogging was a tough thing. Now we have more opportunities as compared to what were available previously. Even if the competition has increased now, people have become more passionate about blogging.
Well Mohit, I don't link blogging with earning money. I connect it to being my guide that helps me nurture my writing style. This is what makes me happy.
I was thinking the same Arvind ??? Anyone 5 year old ,please share your journey with IB ....
I have 4 months to go to complete 5 years blogging. From the time I started blogging, Ive been a member of Indiblogger. I remember the first time a blogging contest was announced. The results were chosen based on the number promoted which had a kind of maths with the indirank I wrote for one of the early contests sponsored by Tata docomo. And have been mostly silently following the forum threads since then. Many people who used to be active those days are not to be seen these days. I remember Mohan, Purba. I very much enjoy all of Ranjith's comments in the recent times (one to mention, where he wished for 50 4k vouchers because he submitted on time )
IB has been doing great blogging adventures and I am thrilled to see what more IB has got for bloggers in the coming years.
Feels nice to read your comments...
I've been with indiblogger for long but the first blogging contest that I participated in was in mid 2011 and by November had got my first victory.
Yes, this association with indiblogger has certainly helped me understand my own writing style better... and encouraged me to nourish it.
:)
I guess most of the bloggers blogging then would still be writing... though they may have drifted away from contests, which is quite acceptable. But I'm curious to know about those who stopped and dropped out of blogging. Why did they leave blogging? Was it falling out of love with words? Was it an idea drought? Was there a feeling that they wanted to earn which wasn't coming fast enough?
and we may tell your mother about you./// Jeez! Indiblogger & wit
I have been blogging since about 5.5 yrs now. For me this year has been a landmark year in terms of meeting new bloggers, winning contests and the likes. Rather than a decrease in the number of posts, I have written more in 2014 compared to the past 2 years.
I joined IndiBlogger about 2 years ago when I wrote on blogger platform. Since then I now own my own domain and just recently started to write more actively. After I wrote a few articles on Ubuntu, I realized I need a way to share my posts and get reviews. It was then that it occured to me that I already was a member of Indiblogger.
Been a few hours in exploring this platform I am already dazzled by it and really amazed to see that it have grown to become sich a huge cummunity of bloggers. There are so many cool things happening besides "just sharing blogs", like Meets, Drives and contests. Level of humour in the blog.indiblogger.in/category/the-team/ section just caught me off guard. :D
As I will try to share my blogs, and read others, and try to be active on the forum, I just like to say thanks to the creators of IndiBlogger for putting together a platform that have grown to be much more than just blogging. I already feel proud to be a part of this community.
Btw, I came across a broken URL that needs to be fixed. I hope this is appropriate place to share this.
Under the question, "Why is my blog ranking unavailable?" the link to "Feed detection issues on Blogger" is pointed to "http://www.blogspotknol.com/2010/10/solution-problem-detecting-feed.html". I think it should be corrected with any valid URL. Link for Wordpress is working though.
Not able to edit my previous post, so just putting it here that the last para talked about a broken URL and it is in FAQ section of the site. https://www.indiblogger.in/faqs.php
I'm trying to upload a post... and the prompt that pops up everytime, is: Pelendur. What does this mean, Renie?

Fixed, thanks!
@IndiTeam, Can we please have a sticky thread for reporting IndiBlogger bugs? I guess most, if not all, forums have this as a standard forum feature.
No CK. Posting on a random thread and tagging R is more interesting
btw, you have used the wrong tag. It should be @R, not @IT. In the iphone thread also, UK included R's name in his reply and R replied
r, It can't be @R always to fix those issues. He must be having some developers at the backend, unless he is like one of our directors, who likes doing things on his own.
I don't know that but R'tagged posts get faster replies than support tickets.
CK Why don't you create a thread? We'll tag R and ask him to make it sticky
Hello Friends, This is the first time I am entering in this forum. I hope to get many friends in this forum.
Welcome aboard the IndiTrain, Bouvan!
Is there any way to permanently have this thread somewhere on the homepage? Like in the slideshow or somewhere else. Lately, there has been a lot of SSP and I feel having this on the homepage will be helpful to reduce SSP and other unimportant topics. Just a suggestion.
Was really surprised to see a 7 year old forum post on the top. The right post indeed.
This gives me goosebumps..and I second this...
