How about having an Indiblogger Badge for "Swachh Bharat" campaign. Once we take the pledge, do our bit and we display this Badge from IB on our blogs.

IB team, can we have a Badge for this campaign?

Lets do our bit and strengthen the freedom movement set by Mr Narendra Modi... yes i said freedom movement ...freedom from eyesore...

Do we really need all that showoff to do it? They're doing that on purpose, what purpose do we have to take part in that showoff campaign?

It's as easy as changing our own habits, rather than picking up a broom, once in a lifetime to show that we are believers in the campaign, put up a selfie on our social media accounts, and then forget it from the next day onwards.

cyberkid, if Sachin adopted a village in Andhra, he could have done it of his own. dont you think Sachin must be pursuing other business initiatives post his cricket chapter. How many such things you are aware of? Sachin was in media and thats why we knew that a village is being adopted. It's not called showing off...it;s call taking a step and letting people know...that has got again 2 aspects, 1. you remain committed as people are looking at you, 2. you inspire another person, who was unable to take a step forward despite all willingness from his soul.

show-offs, i believe is a word more connected with a selfish motif of a person to gain fame.... we are not targeting this.... having the badge reminds me of what i have pledged for everyday i open my blog, and may be a reader gets inspired and joins the movement.

come on samanta.... how many times in your life u wud have uttered... parts of our country is so dirty...bloody govt... ;-) why one needs a voucher to do it....

Really? How many philanthropic activities you know of these celebrities? Almost everyone is engaged in one or more, and we never really know anything about most of those. Is it really required for one to come in limelight to do good things? Sachin was in media because he adopted a village, and the media is news hungry. I don't recall any of these celebrities pulling in the whole of media to "show off" their philantropic activities.

And talking about the reminder, did your mother ever ask for a badge from you to remind her of her daily chores she did selflessly for her family?

It's easy to blame the government as "bloody government" and "shameless politicians" and stuff like that. Is it the government who spits out after having a mouthful of gutkha or pan masala or the paan and chewing it for hours, out of the cars and buses and motorcycles and trains, on the dividers and flyovers and the roads and the railway tracks? Is it the government's sole responsibility to be responsible, hire a sanitation worker for each one of 1.25 billion people of the country?

It's mindless blaming others for YOUR failure to act on YOUR part. You spoil it for days and months and years and decades alltogether and then all of a sudden you realise that you can get social media attention and publicity out of YOUR ACT OF RESPONSIBILITY for keeping YOUR surroundings clean of the filth YOU have spread. It's not the person from other state who made it dirty at the first place. It's YOU and other people surrounding YOU.

and by YOU and YOUR, I'm not specifically pointing at you as an individual but the society as a whole, that does include me as well. I'm no alien.

By the way, why did the entire country had to wait for something what we all knew we should do for Namo to come up and put up a show ??

PS.. Campaing is already getting enough hype to reach everyone.. So would not it be better to start a campaign to suppose Mr. Kailash Satyarthi ???

+1 And Many others who managed to stay away from media attention, like one guy who runs an old age home for the elderly in East Delhi, one where Mr. Ravish Kumar from NDTV India managed to reach, and he never shouted for media or people's attention.

don't you think if we knew that these kind of kind hearted people exist in these world, may be a person like me would have taken 1st step long back. did we  ever care that just cleaning your surrounding does not require a municipality cleaning  team? Why the country had to wake up Narendra Modi's Speech. Inspiration and courage to do something different than earning for your daily bread comes from a fellow citizen. being vocal helps build up new ideas and there is nothing wrong.

As far as your example of mother, there are examples of old age homes coming in vogue. if parents make you feel the value they have added in your life right from your childhood, there would not have been a single Old Age Homes. you and me do value their contribution, but there are people whom the values has to be shown...nothing wrong in it...may be they dont realise it when  they are running for materialistic gain for themselves and own family. But they do...

i dont believe in blaming anyone, as there is no VALUE doing it..i Strongly believe in doing my part of it for any cause. i dont litter, i dont use plastics, and so on...
