Yellow Journalism and Pop Corn with Deepika

I had loads of fun reading about the recent collision between TOI and Deepika Padukone.

To the extent, that it made me research what TOI actually stood for and introduced me to the wonderful word of Yellow journalism

yellow press, is a type of journalism that presents little or no legitimate well-researched news and instead uses eye-catching headlines to sell more newspapers.

I got to know the difference between editorial and advertorial and how TOI sells most of its paper space in the form of advertorial. For eg, the entertainment news that you see on  the 2 page "INSERT YOUR CITY NAME" Times, most of them are ads in the guise of approval from TOI.

This was news to me, if a newspaper can sell opinion to the masses to the highest bidder, then does it actually remain a newspaper?

Hmmm, seems general and off topic posts don't pop up in forum?

TOI came out the loser in the case.  They couldn't resist firing a loaded apology which made them lose further credibility.
