Many times it's showing "update info is outdated" and when I'm trying to update this is the details of error message (which is the heading of this thread) I'm getting:-

Hi

The error says:

"W:Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/deluge-team/ppa/ubuntu/dists/trusty/main/binary-amd64/Packages  404  Not Found"

You are trying to add a PPA which does not exist for Ubuntu 14.04. Delete this PPA from software sources list and update again.

You can look at the tutorial I wrote: http://itsfoss.com/failed-to-download-repository-information-ubuntu-13-04/ (B mods, let me know if it violates the norms).

P.S. One honest request. Indiblogger is not the real forum for OS related troubleshoots. Try Google first and if it doesn;t work, try Ask Ubuntu or Ubuntu Forums.

I disagree @The Sorcerer

Running away and buying Windows copy is not a solution. A Windows 8 DVD comes at 110 Euro. Ubutnu os for free. Moreover. there are issues with any OS if you are new to it. What if he has some troubleshooting issue in Windows 8. Where should he go then?

The thing here is that Anunoy is a newbie in desktop Linux world. At first, he will struggle with some basic stuff, for sure. But going back to Windows is not the solution. As I mentioned earlier, the trouble he is facing is one of the common error if one tries to install an application meant for an older version.

I am deeply saddened by fellow IndiBloggers advising to "buy Windows" Tongue out Alas! there are not many Linux lovers here Cry
