Google Friend Connect Discussion
My new blog is still comparetively new and since I'm not well versed with blogger. I want some information related to this.
What I read was Google is phasing out the google friend connect but I still see it on most of the blogs. Thus it still function ? If yes, how should one make the best use of it ?
Yes it is being phased out. You can still use it blogger
Vijay - If I try to log into it, it is always showing an error message. Is it possible that it is not allowing anyone new to join it. Or may be I'm doing something wrong 
GFC always has some or the other problems.

I will definitely do that but how will people follow my blog With friend connect few people would have followed my blog in mutual respect

When someone follows your blog through GFC, they can view your new posts on their blogger home page under reading list.
Making the best use of it - Add the widget to your sidebar and let others follow. Nothing more.
The reason why many are still using it is that for older blogs, the GFC was a gadget included by deafult on new blogs.

you can't remove it... There is some error in GFC. All the best for becoming a retard 
Ranjith - I think you can't open new friend connect accounts. If you already have an account you can use it & follow other blogs.

There was be a Friend Connect App which was completely independent of Blogger GFC. You could add it to any website not just Blogger. But that was phased out.
And you can still add GFC to new blogs. Add Gadget -> More Gadgets -> Followers ( last one on first page ) but no one can follow your blog using it. They should add it directy to their reading reading from their blogger dashboard. In fact, people can add the blog to their reading list even if followers gadget widget is not added to a blog.
Even though the followers gadget follow button is not working, the gadget shows the followers count and profile pictures of your followers.
