Discrepancy in Blog Subscribers

Where does Blogger DB show subscribers? 

Coming to feedburner, there are two things :

Feed Subscribers : See this page page to know how they are calculated. This number is not accurate.

E Mail Subscribers : You can see it from Publicise > E Mail Subscriptions in your feedburner account. This is accurate.

Ranjith, I saw the subscribers at the latter page you mentioned. In blogger DB, the overview section has a coloum of Followers. I presume that Blogger's Followers and E-Mail Subscribers mean the same thing because when I had one subscriber, both showed one. And now there's a discrepancy.

Hehee follower and subscriber are not the same....

AS, seriously? Then does that mean, once upon a time I had a follower and subscriber both? And now I have 0 follower and 4 subscribers? This is so confusing

Pankti, the one blogger dashboard shows as followers is the number of followers via Google Friend Connect.

ND RSS = Really Simple Syndication.

It is a format which is used by websites to inform programs about their new content. If people who are keeping an eye on your post are people, may be you can write one a paper that you have updated your blog and stick it at the entrance of your house. Every one who passes by your house will see it, visit your blog and reads.

But, the things why keep an eye on your blog are programs and they can't understand sentences like 'I updated my blog. Tell to all those people who are using you to read my blog'.

There exists a format ( like on first write the title, second line date, third line post snippet. Between every entry, leave a blank line - Actual format is not as simple as this )

People use RSS readers to follow blogs. These RSS readers allow you to add websites ( their RSS feed urls ) These programs retrieve your RSS feed every few minutes / hours and check if it is changed, If it is changed, they find out what the new content is. People who use rss readers simply open therr rss readers and it shows posts from all the sites they follow at one place.

Google Friend Connect Followers :

1. By looking at the followers gadget on your blog

OR

1. Go to blogger.com

2. Click your blogge name.

3. On the page that appears, you will see your followers count :

Feedburner Subscribers :

1. Go to feedburner.com 

2. You will see your feed ( blog ) name along with your subscribers count.

The actual number of subscribers may be slightly less because at times bots are also be counted.

To see your e mail subscribers count

1. Go to feedburner.com

2. Click on your feed ( blog ) name

3. Click Publicize tab on the top

4. On the left. click e mail subscriptions

5. Scroll down and you will see your subscribers count.

The actual number of subscribers may be slightly less ( if they did not verify their e mail ). To find the actual numbers, click View Subscribers details and count the number of people for whom status is shown as active.
