To quote Amit Sowani of Logic Masters India -

"We will be organizing the Indian Sudoku Championship online.  (not to be confused with any other offline event that might be conducted in a similar time-frameThe winner of this event will be regarded as the national champion as it is a fair event which is open to all participants across the country. Participants who are among the top few in this championships will be invited to participate in the World Sudoku Championship in an individual capacity. Unfortunately we are not in a position to bear the participation expenses for the winners who are selected through this event. However I hope that we will see a large number of participants, each vying for the pride of being called the national champion. "

In short, this is a competition independent of Times of India and the restrictions of an offline event only held across a few cities. This competition will be held online, on the 11th of August, at 2 PM, for 150 minutes, and is free and open to all. Here are the relevant links -

Note to IndiPolice - I thought there is nothing wrong in starting this topic as it is similar to the IPC topic which I was allowed to create, and again there is no self benefit here as I will be competing here too. I won't keep sharing every contest, but this just happens to be "Championship season" in India as far as Puzzles and Sudoku is concerned. This looks like the last one for the year though.

Submission page is now active. You can practice the examples on the online interface here - http://logicmastersindia.com/2013/ISC/?online=1

Also, it is now confirmed that the 4 best players other than the Times Sudoku winners will be invited to the World Championships in an individual capacity. So 4 people other than me, Rishi, Rohan, Jaipal, even if we place high here too (since we're already on team A).
