Is it advisable to publish a Paid Post? With a link to Casino?
I received a mail asking to publish a Paid post and keep it alive for a year, with a link to some Casino, on my blog. As I sort out, I can publish my own post (written under their guidance) or their own post (written in my blog's niche-travel). Still to sort out the payment thing.
Now I did some Googling and found that many a guys have recieved this type of proposal. A few have successfully tried it and others didn't care.
My question is, as I already invite Guest posts on my blog - will this (Paid) Guest post hamper my blog's reputation? Casino hyperlink doesnt sound good, but AdSense sometimes shows Rummie etc ads. And, can such a post pose a threat to my blog (it's hosted on blogger)?
Here's the conversation...
Hi thereI work for a company called Discover Media, acting on behalf of a casino client who like to advertise on your websiteI am interested in publishing a short article (around 300-350 words) on your website for a 12 month period.Within this article there will be one outbound text link going to my clients website. We tailor each article to suit individual websites, and are able to provide the content if necessary and can ensure that it is unique, up to date and relevant to the theme of your website.Alternativly if you feel more comfortable creating your own content, we would be more than happy to work with you creating a peice that works for both of us.Ideally we need this to be live before the end of this week if possible so I hope we can finalise a deal quickly. If you had some other website that would be of great help, and maybe we could complete a group deal? Or any friends you could pass me on too?If you are interested please reply and we can discuss it further.I look forward to your replyBest regardsThomas Lewis
I asked How they reached my blog and how a Casion article will get on to a my blog. Here's the reply...
Hi thereThankyou for your emailWe would make a travel related article, and then have a link to casino by talking about playing on the mobile casino app whilst travelling.WIll this work for you?Kind regards
Now, suggest should I go further with conversation on pricing etc? Or take it as a spammer and junk it? Email looks genuine, no via thing and that DiscoverMedia(.)co.uk exists...
Suggestions pl....
I received a similar offer but I added a condition to it. I will write the content . they agreed
So I wrote an article on probability and how casinos make money and how we foolishly try our luck by going against probability, basically why you cannot win in long term...and added their link..They paid :D
Leave it Punit Bro, it will harm the standing of your blog. Rahil also recieved one.
Casino link= more chances that Google will penalize your blog
Read it here about paid links...
Thanks for the link @Vishal :)
Guys, m planning to go ahead at least a few steps and see how it goes. If I will find all those conditions/suggestions advised being satisfied - I will publish it or else won't :) Share later...
If the readers are mostly from Indian then it's not advisable however if the audience is from uk/us or foreign countries then go ahead..!!
Thanks @Rahil, for inputs...
From all that I learnt from you guys - it's not worth trying. But, still I sent him a mail with question about all the inputs I recieved here (Nofollow, Paid Guest Post prefix with title, Actual Link, What/How will be the payment) with a disclaimer that I reserve the right to decline the offer after reading the article.
@Yash - ~35% of my traffic is from US, >50 India, rest Russia and other European countries...
It's much traffic from India. So it's better to try other products as paid reviews.
Finally tata-byebye to this Paid post thing. Was offered $100 with do_follow tag and NO-paid post prefix. But the worst thing was the lame post they sent to me, it was absolute nonsense...
Thanks guys...it was indeed a learning experience sharing with all of you..
