Colgate 'The Moral of the Story is...' contest
Two out of every three Indians suffer from gum problems and are unaware of it. Blood can be the sign of bigger gum problems like gingivitis, receding gums or even tooth loss if left untreated. One should not ignore the warning signs your body gives you!
So blog away, write a moral story about ignoring warning signs and win great prizes :
- 1 Sony XPeria Z
- 16X Rs 5000 Nike vouchers
- Colgate hamper for all participants with a valid entry
For more details, visit the contest page.
Reason: -
Asalways ... Ranjith is the first one to raise the contest alarm in the forum ! Some nice prizes up for grab !
That is what happens when one visits the forum atleast once every hour even when one needs to study for an exam the next day!
And, I'm not always the one to start contest threads. I have given chance to others a few times.
For the year 2013 :

Oh my god Ranjith .. graph and all ... i guess you took it personally or is that for our information ! anyways you are the winner here clearly !
@ Aziz I was feeling bored and the result was the pie chart!
I keep doing such thing quite frequently.
assuming you've watched the recent movie, one π is enough for a lifetime
I watch only Telugu movies.
.
I was talking about the 2π radians in a full circle.
and I was talking of "life of Pi"
Thanks for the help Ranjith!
Write a moral story about ignoring warning signs...
... the warning signs your body gives you ...
Should the warning signs be related to teeth?
If topics was 'a moral story about ignoring *any* warning sign', I would have written a *good* panchatantra like story.
.
.
Now, I will have to force teeth and gums into that story.
I think it's 'no' dude....
It's written "write a moral story about ignoring warning signs and win your way to great health!" --- so it can be any warning sign shown by your body, not just teeth and gum
Though it'll be nice if Renie clarifies....
Ranjith you are active participent of contests. I just want to know can i write in hindi?
@AS Now, who will tag Renie?
@ kanupriya I think that you can write in any language ( though I'm not very sure about it ) as nothing about it is specified in the Terms and Conditions but don't expect to win a prize! I can't recall any Hindi language post winning a prize. ( The reason could also be that the number of Hindi entries are very few, so the probability that the winning entry is a Hindi post is also lower ) So, it's always better to write in English.
I remember Renie clarifying in one of the contest threads that entries in any language are allowed ( for that particular contest ). Now, it's upto you to interpret the rules and come to a conclusion regarding the language.
tagging Renie won't help... he'll come when there's real need... BTW do you keep interest in mythology and all...?
for giving the reference of 'Das Avatar'
Ranjith kindly advise where I have to name the title page as The Moral of the story is.... or any other title will do?
Thanks in advance
Vijay
considering that Ranjith is tired and resting on his vessel I'm replying your query
Any title will do as long as you write by the given theme...
Someone please clarify, in the clause 4 of rules/guidelines it's given that:
"An entry shall be considered eligible only if it includes all the details of the person visiting the said link and following all instructions specified therein. He/she shall hereinafter be referred to as “the Participant”."
what does it mean???
So, we have people other than me who read the rules...
They might have copy pasted the above sentence from a 'Master File'. This is what happened in one of the contests. ( Melbourne ? )
its sounds alien language to me
Ok thanks for the info Anunoy
Vijay
Cheers
Is the following also copied from the 'Master Document'?
Participants agree to authorize Colgate to send voice messages and SMS alerts/email messages including promotional messages to their telephone number or email id, which they have provided while participating in this contest.
voice messages???
Voice messages - may be multimedia messages, IVRS calls or phone calls
My firefox rocks!!!
maybe chrome is already healthy
Thanks Ranjith
yes offcourse Ranjith ! you are our forum hero after all !
Ok, a lot of doubts here. Here goes!
1. The moral story does not necessarily have to be about gums and teeth. Any moral story! But the story needs to be original, so no Panchatantra fables! :)
2. Blog posts in any language are valid!
3. The title of the posts does not have to be "The Moral of the story is...."
Panchatantra stories = original stories containing animals, birds and talking trees!
"Blog posts in any language are valid"
this clause brought me to the (mis)conclusion that stories and articles aren't read before contest results
When I had raised the same doubt in one of the previous contest threads, Renie/Vineet said that they have translators who know many languages.
Seeing your smile, I feel that you are ready to learn Japanese and submit your entry in Japanese. May be, Arti can help you!
if we can write ANY moral story how do we include the health blog link and wat about this rule : write a moral story about ignoring warning signs and win your way to great health!...
"Blog posts in any language are valid!", only for this contest or for other too?
@ vaisakhi mishra You can write any moral story about ignoring warning signs. Since Renie and Vineet ( they are a part of the team that runs IndiBlogger ) themselves have said that, you can ignore the statement or consider that this is the new interpretation of that statement.
Regarding the link, there is no need to insert it within the body. At the end of the blog post, you can add the sentence :
This is an entry for XYZ contest organised by IndiBlogger and sponsored by Colgate. Visit their health blog here.
@ Mamata I think, for all contests
What do you think? Of course 16 individual entries will get 5000 each.
The first think I have done after reading this query is calculating 5000/16 to see if it turns out to be a recurring decimal.
Each winner gets a voucher worth 5000 bucks! And there are 16 such winners so 5000 * 16! Same blogger can win all the 16 vouchers too since multiple entries are allowed. So one blogger could walk away with one Sony Phone, 16 vouchers and quite a few Colgate Hampers to distribute! ;)
@ Vineet Will that ever happen - a single person winning all the prizes ?
and quite a few Colgate Hampers
Is it one hamper per entry or per participant?
@Ranjith:"all participants with valid entries get a Colgate hamper" says it all : each participant shall get one hamper despite the number of entries he makes- at least one entry should be valid.
Oh I have a good idea for this contest! Will try to pen something when I get time.
please share it here... I'm sitting with my pen and pad open
ste do gimme an idea...then i wont ask u to gimme a lumia...:P...behen ke liye itna toh kar hi sakte ho...plus have exams so i desperately need some IDEAS!!! else i ll strt writing about WMC..
It can be any warning sign, it doesn't have to be about gums and teeth!
I think no room for doubts have been left now .. :P
hey guys, The story need not be necessarily a real-life incident eh? It could be a fictional story too.
you clarified it or asked for a clarification?
that differentiates a smart kid from the rest of other kids
AS, you are really getting obsessed about kids
yup
Hi Guys,
When do u have to submit?
Any guesses! How long can a story be. It has to be something.
What do I have to edit??? this 'edit' shit comes up on my screen
Well
Isn't there anybody who knows?
yes, contest page says-
your story could be real, fictional, funny or serious.
Hi,
Can you please clarify about this:
"An entry shall be considered eligible only if it includes all the details of the person visiting the said link and following all instructions specified therein. He/she shall hereinafter be referred to as “the Participant”."
So, do we need to write our name, address, etc in the blog post itself?
What are the details that we need to provide?
Please clarify.
Regards,
Narendra
Hey Narendra, you don't have to worry about that for now - simply submit your post as in any other IndiVine contest. When you have the time, update your IndiBlogger profile. Please don't put your address in your blog post!
