Apollo Hospitals Contest: How does Modern Healthcare touch lives?
Tell us how you think Modern Day Healthcare is Touching Lives and stand a chance to win an iPad, Bose headphones, gift vouchers and pen drives. More details on contest page here.
Sounds good...
worthy to write topic
At last a topic of your calibre
yes yes... from a long time I'm looking for chances to bash the modern day healthcare...
In that case, where would the shampoo contests stand?
In fact, this is one contest whose topic looks sensible after a series of shampoo based contests.
yes off-course we (excluding those who don't agree) can pocket any poop and vomit any poison if there's assured pendrive/t-shirt/200-rs-voucher.... it's so worthy can't you see Mr.....
Thankfully I have stopped contests - For this is a topic I have passionate views on which unfortunately are against this topic, which Apollo folks may not at all appreciate.
what all they need is a backlink from you
We will make the link no follow. They haven't specified that it should be a do follow link!
then they'll strike off your name without letting you know... they have also not mentioned their selection process will be totally 'fair'
Almost same feelings here, TF. However I am not too convinced on the topic.
Apollo should have first organized a session on the same, educating how they r changing and incubating modern technology in their field, their procedures etc.
@Ranjith: I wish men could really turn naughty at 40s ... or 60s... or anytime...
@Ekta: Does it require you to write all recent developments in medical field only?... it has ben told how modern healthcare is touching our lives... i.e. whatever a common man (us) is experiencing/encountering.... So what for a session? And once you attend a workshop you'll write all those high-phi stuffs which they'll ilude you with and your aam-admi's outlook will get subdued
@ So, you want to become a naughty person? ... But, you already are a very naughty person!
By the way, I am not naughty. I am a very serious person!
My seriousness is dormant due to the lack of a suitable smiley in this forum
Even though I have a lot of criticism against the modern day medicine system, I would like to participate in this contest and give a balanced perspective - Both pros and cons. In the process of researching for this blog post, I hope to understand modern medicine and alternative forms of medicine further. Irrespective of the prizes, I think this is a good topic to write about.
well thought...
Health care is needed by all in one way or the other at some point of time in the life time. Any nation which can provide UNIVERSAL FREE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL can really be called a developed country or the most socially sensitive to the needs of the citizens. Now a days providing health care is considered as business rather than a SERVICE. Hope the private, public partnership will provide service for all people.
Can we write about Alexander Fleming and the discovery of Pencillin?
it'll be more accepted by Apollo if you write about pricey Augmentin
I don't why but I smiled after reading your question.
Seeing the word Penicillin, I am reminded of my school days. We had to learn the names of two antibiotics ( I don't remember if they teacher said it or I have assumed it ) Penicillin was the easiest one and I had a difficult time choosing the other one . Finally went with Streptomycin. I just wonder how complicated things of the past have become so simple today!
If I win the headphones, will I be allowed to exchange it for the voucher?
I don't even know how many ear/head phones are hidden in different corners of my house... so I also don't want headphone
I don't have as many headphones as you have
The reason why I don't want them ( assuming I win one of them) is that I never use headphones.
think big... think Lumia... (now keep guessing how much I've been paid by Nokia to advertuise in public forums)
Phew... I talked of credit, not debit
A good topic to write about. Here's my blog on how modern day health care touch lives: http://d4deepan.blogspot.in/2013/04/robotic-surgery-milestone-in-modern-day.html
wow, the result announcements are quite late, to be honest... why do they need that much time ? I don't think they'd be getting tonnes of entries for this.
You never know...they may up the ante and some bloggers would like to give it try. Besides, life is so uncertain with medicals and hospitals being so certain part of life...I am sure people will bring forth their experience.
I dont know abt you guyz but I want those bose headphones, they are neat
topic should be "how modern day healthcare grabs your purse"
it does
then make it broader... "how our Govt fails to save our purse"
Guys. No links here. Whoever posts the links here are automatically disqualified from the contest.
it's quite an interesting thing to write about though not very elabrote as it should be simple for everyone to understand
Being a freelance writer, the first thing I looked for was the word limit, which hasn't been specified. Given the long window they've kept open for submissions, I'll take it easy but would surely participate. I hope it doesn't go the way of the previous Microsoft office contest, in which my laziness got the better of me
i dont think theres word limit....
One suggestion for them. They can give i-pads to winners and free heart check up for all heart broken losers.
same with me...visiting doctor will be like a punishment for losing
May you be blessed with lifelong good health
@Ranjith and Nandini - Incentive to try harder to win.
Anunoy - Much needed blessing in current times. You fall sick, modern healthcare will suck you dry and leave you penniless.
When i imagined blogging. It was to talk about something that i wanted.
Now suddenly, I am writing about Microsoft 365, HP Connected Music and may be also this healthcare thing.
Selling our souls for headphones, T-shirts and ipads?
I would have hoped it would at least be something bigger, like a car, a world trip or some such.
Heh?
its not compulsory to write any of those if you dont want, but its fun
The role of a doctor is to save the lives of people. ( This is what I have studied in my school ) Now, does that mean that he shouldn't charge money for his services?
The same with bloggers. And, it is upto an individual blogger to decide whether he/she wants to be rewarded with i pads or not! :)
Madhu, if you think of the broader aspect, these contests are unfolding your versatility as a writer
Finally something where both the sexes have equal chances..nice topic too..so here i go for it..:)
Here is my entry article for this contest!!!!

There you go. You are also automatically disqualified.
@TheFool. It's not mentioned anywhere, that posting links lead to disqualification. Did i miss something here?
Yes. You did. I have sent you a personal message explaining how you can be disqualified.
Just a quick question - What if we start on the expected theme of - "Modern Health Care touching Lives" and gradually , yet unintentionally deviate to the theme - "Modern Health Care touching our Bank Balances under the Pretensions of Touching Lives" .... Would the entry still be considered Legitimate ?
everything is situational, so it's always prudent to leap after analysing the situation
