The Kissan 100% Real Blogger Contest
Our first contest for 2012 is out - who wants to get in touch with nature this year?
We are open to more suggestions on the prizes - as long as they are nature holidays, and within India, it's all good - so you can pretty much choose where you would like to go as long as it's within the budget!

For those having doubts about this contest, here's clarification from Vineet:
Hi Everyone!
About the clarification on the contest topic - The topic invites you to share your stories where while growing up you had experiences close to nature or your roots. For example, maybe the walk in the park with your dad everyday when you were five. Or maybe even the stories that your grand mom used to tell you, and NOT watching TV. Or playing football in the heavy rains of Mumbai. Interpretation of nature does not have to be some exotic locations or your travel. These are all experiences that take us back to our roots. This is not a travelogue contest :)
The Fool's interpretation is correct: A memorable incident from childhood or involving one's children if one has any involving close interaction with nature". Nature having a broader definition of course!
Hope this clarifies!
About the travel, the dates are flexible and you can redeem those for a duration of six months!
love it:)
i hope the dates are flexible too
@Ranjith
lol.
Topic again sounds a bit vague. Can the Inditeam be more clear about exactly what needs to be written to avoid people getting disqualified.
Currently y understanding is "A memorable incident from childhood or involving one's children if one has any involving close interaction with nature". Can someone from the team please confirm if that is the requirement.
Lets hope we get a clarification. This time I am planning to participate seriously, play by all the rules and try to win.
Any of your experiences that you have had related with nature - Trip, gardens, jungle trails, safari, anything natural that felt real to you - thats my guess.
I too loved your take on superhero for the contest...You played by the rules I think.
Or ghosts may be
They are also a part of nature, especially when you meet them in a jungle
Please don't talk about ghosts. Yesterday itself, I found it very difficult to go to sleep after hearing some sounds near my window. The first think that came to my mind then was the probability of a ghost trying to enter into my room and kill me.
OK imagine this.
Lets suppose you stay on 5th floor. Around midnight you suddenly wake up and look at your window. What you see is that there is an old lady with white hairs and wrinkled face is standing outside the window and asking you to give something to eat. You ask her to wait, go to kitchen and bring some food and give it to her. She is very happy and keeps it in her bag and goes away
Thanks, DS and Farida.
@ animesh Impossible. I stay on the first floor. And my hostel has nothing beyond two floors. And even if I get awaken at midnight, I don't look out of the window. As I have already said, I am frightened of ghosts and who knows, ghosts may be moving around at that time. And why midnight, yesterday at around 10 I looked out of my window and in the faint light, the moving leaves made me think that it was a ghosts.
@Ranjith
Don't worry. Ghosts can travel through Solid Materials. They don't knock on the Window
In that case, I'll twist the situation. What if you're blogging and suddenly someone pats on your shoulder. Its the same old dadimaa and you know the hostel door is locked. Your room door is also bolted from inside
@Papa
If a ghost does that to me. It'll run away. Cause I'm scarier than it.
And my mom will be like, "Please Ghost Jhi, Take her away. She troubles everyone. You take her" So Obviously Ghost will get afraid. Oh! How I love GHOSTS.
BTW Poor Ranjith
Please could someone elaborate tegh actual requirements for the post for this topic? Is it a generic travel / close to nature experience from when we were growing up?
WOW! WOW! WOW! IndiAwesome! Am already getting itchy feet! I want to win one of those... badly!
I have a doubt - why is this contest filed under Food and Drink? I believe the entries will be more travel related, so wouldn't travel be an apt category for this?
Why eating under a tree in a jungle surrounded by ghosts, doesn't it come under Food and drink?
Hahaha! If you win, then make sure its a trip to Bangalore
@Papa
lol. Poor Ranjith's not gonna sleep at all
Wow. Nice Contest.
I finally got a reason to write about my YATRA now
@Arti Deedi
Even I am looking forward to it.Btw I'm more eager to read your post.
@Ranjith
Thanks. Good luck to you too

IndiTeam
Thanks a lot for the clarification, Vineet. Now there is no ambiguity.
That is why we have used the term 100% Real experiences!
At last something I really want to write about. Something very close to my heart that I always wanted to write about fits this theme. I want to take my time and write it proper. Hope office guys don't play spoilsport.
All the best TF, will wait for your write up. On a side note, what happened to the reviews? I was looking out for Dhiraj's blog review. Is it done?
sincere hearty wishes, thumbs up.
Thanks, Arti and Pramod. Seems like I have new followers on my blog - my office guys. They probably realized I have too much time on my hands and could be better utilized for office work. Got these exams to take and I am running behind schedule. So reviews, Mayan twins series everything put on backburner. Only came up with a quick 55er for Blog-a-ton at SIS 's request.
Good Luck TF.
Don't worry your office people won't do anything.
Looking forward to your post
Thanks, Pooja. Inpspite of office folks I managed to complete my post. I will take my time fine tuning and editing. But will have something at least to post if deadline is suddenly upon me.
What is the deadline for this?
Check out the contest page for all the details, Aditi! The Last date for submission is 29th feb!
Good Luck!

The contest description has been modified to remove all ambiguity!
Today's parents want their kids to grow up close to nature so they would have real, authentic and natural experiences. When you grew up, or raised your kids, did you have an experience which felt 100% real to you? Maybe the walks in the park with your Dad when you were 5 years old, your Grandmother's stories, your son's first words, or you and your childhood friend "borrowing" mangoes from a neighbour's tree! Blog about it and win exciting nature trails for you and a friend / member of your family!
Hope this helps all participants!
just one clarification needed, suppose i participate and win, can i gift it to my parents for their anniversary... or do i need to be one of those travelling?
All the best Arti!
Abhirup: The prizes for this particular contest are transferable! :) All the best!
Thanks a lot for clarifications
I wonder if the IB is on super wheels or if I am on the wheels of a bullock cart. This is the first time I have entered into this thread and there are already numerous clarifications, corrections, assumptions, congratulations and much more....
@Ranjith
IB has gotten bored by all our teasing. It has decided not to crawl anymore
I loved the recent Kissan ad where they pasted a small sachet of tomato seeds! I think at least 25% of those who received it would definitely plant the seeds. It does serve nature in a collective way! Would love to write for a contest powered by Kissan and you guys!
Do share the ad if you have a copy with everyone here! Am sure everyone is just as keen as me to see it!
Yup! I really want to see it!
Here's the kissan ad
Perfect start to a new year... ! Will be fun to write up on this..!
All The Best
one more clarification is poetry allowed??
Poetry is allowed and encouraged, and so are multiple entries!
Yeah it is.
All the best
Should the entries be in English only or can be in regional languages too?
It can be in any language.
But its better if it is in English.
But you can still write in regional language. Good Luck
Hi Rekha, there is no bar on language for this contest!
Yes, you can.
All the best
I am participating but what about the last date of submission?
