Left a comment - have you been writing for long. You have a very skilled used of words. This is apparent from the title of the blog. Great going.

Abhimanyu, You definitely have enormous talent in translating emotions into words.  "A window pane that is cracked,Climbers lying uncared for on the sill, A raging storm beyond it,But here my world stands still." WOW!!!!!

I also like your choice of pictures to go with every poem. 'Prayer at break of dawn' is great!

As difficult as it is to express one self in simple sentences, doing so in poetry is very admirable.

Thanks for sharing this poetic blog!

Looking forward to more poems.

All the best,

Adarsh.

@Adarsh: Thank you for such kind words. :) I will certainly try to live upto the expectations that you now have from my poetry and blog. I don't know but I feel poetry is the best form of expressing one's emotions and since expression is another form of communication, I try to keep it as simple as possible. I am really touched that you appreciated my poetry my blog the way you did. Thanks once again. :)

@Gautam: Nce poetry there..I don't have a "Blogs I follow" widget but I'll be putting one soon and I'll add your blog :) Btw,  I didn't really understand your question on the word "fondle". Do you want the dictionary meaning of that word?

I liked the innocence and simplicity in your poetry..my only suggestion to you at this stage would be to not try too hard to rhyme a verse. When one tries too hard to do that, one's focus from his primary objective of conveying a message shifts to more trivial and technical issues. Or if you are really keen to rhyme, then perhaps you could just pen down a bare version of your poem first and then add rhyme scheme to it later. But overall, a nice blog. :)

@Amitabh: I haven't yet posted my best poems..I'll do that once the blog becomes a little bit more popular. :) Right now, I'm just experimenting and dabbling in different kinds of poetry. I'm also trying my hand at technical poetry like haiku, senryu, tanka, pantoum, etc. because i've never worked on these poetry forms before. My last two poems "Ghostly Christmas" and "Magic of Winter" were theme poems where I was just trying to work on my imagery. My strength lies in poems that deal with nostalgi or romance. I'm a romantic at heart..lol. Among the poems that I've posted in my blog, perhaps you can have a look at this:

P.S.: I'm not a regular blogger so sincere apologies for my not-so-timely replies in this forum.

@Gautam: Firstly, I added you in my blog roll as I had promised :)

Secondly, your question on whose my favourite poet is a tricky one to answer..I love a lot of poets..yeah, but I do have a soft spot for Helen Steiner Rice and Robert Frost :)

Why don't we all form a network by putting each other in our blog roll and follow our blogs and encourage each other with comments and reviews?

First off.. brilliant theme.. complete meloncholy and darkness on the site..

lovely poems.. will trip more on them after work

A few people on indiBlogger.in seem to have converted their blogs into books! if you have enough content you might be able to get a publisher.. check the topic "Blog to Book" on the discussion forum

@Sriharsha: I went through your blog and left a comment..You seem like a die-hard romantic just like me Wink And yes, I've already blogrolled you. I don't know how we can segregate into groups but I'm fine with it..You go ahead with the segregation.

@Anoop Zombie : Thanks for the compliment on the layout and the poems :). Although I'm new to blogging, I have a record of atleast 100 poems with me(sufficient to be made into a book). Then again, I don't know whether my work is good enough to be published although so far I have received positive comments on my work. But the major problem is that to get one's works published one would need contacts and I have none. Is there a solution for this?

@ Wandering Gypsy:- Hey actually you will have a few supporters for this cause .. I mean there are people on indiBlogger.in itself that can help .. Sramana Mitra who has started the discussion on "Blog to Book" should be your first stop http://www.indiblogger.in/forum/topic.php?id=123 .. you can also see a comment from another IndiBlogger member named Preeti Shenoy in the same discussion.. they may atleast give you a heads up on what to look for and how to make your first contact with Publishers

@ wandering Gypsy :- on a different note, I was wondering what are the kind of people who would pick up a poetry book? Are there many in India? Do you belong to an association of Indian poets of sort.. I belive these are niche books and you will have to be part of a community for feedback and a higher understanding of your poems and its purpose.

I have written a few songs for my college rock band.. so this brings back a flood of memories.. will share them with you in a bit.

@Anoop Zombie : Sorry for my late reply. I've been caught up with work lately. I will get in touch with the with the people you mentioned very soon. Thanks for your inputs :)

And yes, you have a point on how many people would actually pick up a poetry book. Well, I also write stories and articles but I write them on pieces of papers. I'm too lazy to make blogs on theseWink And yeah, I do belong to a poetry association. :) And I am waiting for the songs that you had written for your college band :)

And thanks for your lavish compliments on my poems.:) I've written some more poems after that. :)
