Want to visit Kalimpong and Nagaland? Take a peek...
I am the child of parents who traveled all over the country and abroad as part of their job demands. We did not have a family home to go in the holidays, but visited our relatives and friends similarly scattered. I continue to travel in the same manner after marriage.
Today, when I read the papers filled with demands for separate statehoods by people of our country-Telangana, Gorkhaland, Bundelkhand, Harit Pradesh, etc., I wonder where I belong? Or, more importantly, where do I not belong?
Do I call a place my 'home' because of my surname, or because I have my most precious childhood memories of it?
I have posted the first two of a series of articles, that trace my memories dealing with identity formation across my childhood and young adulthood, which involved varied experiences with many regions and people.
I would be happy if you could review it and provide feedback,
Thanks and regards
