I would love to have your valuable feedback about my blog. Kindly spare some tim
Well, it's wordpress.com, so can't suggest a lot of template changes, since the options are limited in the first place..
What I love of the blog is a simplicity that's evident. You want your posts to take centrestage, which is good. The name, "Swati's" shows to me a little pride in what you are, what your words are. I'm not going to ask any change there, whatsoever. Going on to the part of the template you can change, I think going to the "reading" settings of your WP blog and enabling the "infinite scroll" would be a start. You see, currently, you have set it to display just one post with every load. Whereas that's good that the reader sees one at a time, it might also make the new reader wonder if there's more, esp with this new type of scrolling not having "old posts" "new posts" etc that they usually do. Enabling infinite scroll would make 7 posts display at a stretch. Or if you wish not to, then atleast displaying 4 posts at a time instead would be a good alternative solution perhaps.
I like the animated signature. A beautiful way of signing off your post. Sidebar is good, options wise.. maybe you can try some repositioning of the widgets to get the follow by mail one to the top, and the page view one toward the bottom of the sidebar. Wondering if the categorical links to your posts in the menu is essential. Or if it is, it'd be good if your readers knew what each category meant, since it's not obviously known, or comprehensible. Like to say, few words is about "xyz", so you'll find that there. Whereas you may be aware of its meanings, your readers would not be.
Simple and white is good, but is it a little too white? Maybe a slight dash of color with a header image maybe? or if you wish to stay with the Pilcrow template, you can use the brown option of theme setting... so it wont look overtly white? This of course is a personal choice and I'm only suggesting. I've a tendency to go either plain white, or plain black. I suppose at present, my mood is set for the former as well. Anyways, enjoy writing! :) that's important.
Last bit, I'm a little surprised to see a Hindi blog being in Wordpress. for regional languages, I lean toward Blogspot for its transliteration facilities. :)
goog...more to upgrade...
@ Leo :
frst of all thnx for ur time.....i was more intended toward a content review coz i beleive if a reader wud come back to ur blog is because of its content though representation is important so i will consider ur suggestion and will see wat can i do to make them work...coz all of these things like templete nd color depends on person's choice...before this theme i used another which had a header image of rainbow colors in white background...but for now i liked this one...
i will definately mention a small intro of catagories...u r right i m aware of there meaning , my readers wud not be....
thnx for liking my signature...you are first to appericiate it :)
i started this blog in 2010...and at that time was not too much aware of blogging....made it on wordpress...i have another blog now on blogspot...
Thanx for visiting my blog and giving keen suggestions...thnx a lot ...
Hey swati...
i hope you doing fine....!!
Now i was going through the content of writing you have... There are blogs which are mixed up in Hindi and English... There are blogs which are short and descriptive with more heart throbbing meaning in it...
Always try to break your write up in smaller paragraphs... as such it won't leave a reader blogging all around..
Now it's left to you, how you categories your blog.. Try to segregate your mixed language blogs..
As such in wordpress there are bloggers all around the world..
There are writing which are memoirs, which are inspirational.. Your thoughts are nice and clean. You can be more clear by expressing more where it is required and less where not required.
Now if you believe that you want to be a writer then you can think about the tense of language used in. Some time tenses get mixed up or usage of more adjectives in longer blog makes it weird. This is a suggestion and not an comment on your existing blog..
Also if you have a multiple genre, you break the same, like all poetry's on one side and personnel blogs on one side and pure write-ups on the other..
Definitely you have the zeal, you can continue blogging. As there are bloggers and readers like me who always are in search of write content, which would make our heart lighter or which would make us get involved in it..
You also can visit my blog, by which it will help me getting a review. www.shivprasad123.wordpress.com
Anyways if i was harsh please forgive me.
And remember as a writer all comments are not necessary to be taken. Only take thos which would be productive for you to grow further.
Thanks & Regards,
Shiv
