In ancient times Indian sub-continent had couple of highways which facilitated trading, exchange of goods and ideas. Two such highways were called as Uttarapatha and Dakshinapatha. Uttarapatha connected shores of Bay of Bengal to the plains of northern India and to the mountains of Afghanistan.
