Diwali, or Deepavali also known as the “festival of lights“, is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn every year. The festival spiritually signifies the triumph of light over darkness, virtue over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Diwali is an important festival for Hindus; but also celebrated by Sikhs, Christians, Jains, and some Muslims and Buddhists.
