Help to understand a qoute
I recently read a book by isac asimov "The god themselves" the title is from the qoute by freidrich schiller "Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain." I tried to understand it in literary sense but i am having some problems in interpreting it. Does it mean "if somebody is stupid and ignorant even god cannot help him" or does mean that "Even gods can be stupid sometimes"

i guess its related to the Joan of Arc? and i agree as well that even God cannot help stupid people.
I think it's the former, that is, the even Gods can't help someone who is stupid.
I don't know in what way you wish to use the term stupid. I may be stupid in trying to understand women. Or any particular thing. I may be intelligent to some extent in mathematical formulas.
