Twitter - Do you tweet ?

Leon, the reason why I tweet is I get live status updates of friends who are far away... its not possible always to scrap them or get updates...plus as Adesh mentioned many organisations use it as a powerful marketing platform infact some of the candidates in the ongoing LS polls are using twitter updates as a way to reach potential voters with their agenda.

As far as gathering followers is concerned I have recieved followers whom I didnot know but they were with similar tastes....and they found me out.. Also like Sumit mentioned it is a microblogging platfrom anything less than 140 chars u can put it there and then there are widgets which can be put onto ur main blog that show your tweets...that way you have your blog readers updated with your micro-thoughts when you are not able to post longer stuff to your regular blog...

I tweet..and Like it... Its precise... way of saying about what you wanna say...!

well leon this case is with every online social marketing website ..... u can take example of most popular social marketing website in india i.e Orkut. There is no point of having an account in orkut until or unless u do not have friends added in your profile.

And the main funda of social marketing is to make friends and socialise urself as musch as u can.

In case of twitter u can start following ur friends which are already in orkut as mentioned by adesh and than u can start following people whom u find intresting and the best of twitter is that wen u follow someone they also start following u in return.

And u can also describe twitter as microblogging and as we are bloggers so we can take a whole lot of advantage of twitter :)

but for that i guess you first need a certian amount of audience or otherwise i what is the point of tweeting ? or does it still work ?

Friends/followers is the right word. If you have some friends who are on Twitter, then join them and play your part in conversations. You can also start following IndiBlogger members on Twitter.

In my case, apart from friends, I also search using a keyword like customer service and start following those conversations. And in case I feel there is something that I can add value to, I participate in conversations.

You will understand better if you take a plunge in it. I found it cluttered initially and was confused with conversations all around me. But slowly, I found my feet and started liking it.

Yes i am also using twitter and i like it because :

1. Sometimes u need a quick answer of a question so u can get it in seconds.

2. Its a new way of social marketing

3. I like it Coz i like it :)

I also used to wonder why everybody is tweeting. But then I jumped on the bandwagon and gave it a shot.

I have started liking it. As a management professional and customer evangelist, I can track the conversations regarding customer service and customer experience. It gave me an insights why people are loving certain brands and why consumers hate some brands. I am not someone who is send lot of tweets but a silent observer of conversations. And if there is some conversation where I can contribute, I try to participate in that.

All in all I find it a good tool for implementation of CRM.
