I think all three are interrelated. If your content is good, you will or rather should never get stuck in promotion and gaining readership. And if you are, then the problem lies in lack of efforts from your side.. Obviously the way to achieve these may differ from person to person but I think if you do it sincerely and wholeheartedly, then you can chart your own course and eventually will succeed in accomplishing all your aims.
Depends on what the type of blog is. The greatest challenge for personal and literature blog is getting readers. There are lot of bloggers of different quality who write this kind of blog. And a reader might be reluctant to try a new blogger writing in this space as he is not sure if the writing would be worth his time. You should mostly depend on personal friends and relatives for readership. One way to promote creative writing is to participate in online contests and memes and network with other good bloggers. They themselves would just be one additional reader and you would be expected to read one of their post for every post of yours they read. But possibly eventually you can transfer each one of your reader base to the others.
That is true. People are reluctant to try out new blogs. The situation is even tougher when it comes to blogs related to technology or blogging. Many wish to have reliable sources of information and hesitate from visiting new blogs.
Promotion is ok, you can create and FB page, flood fb with links to articles. But making people and redears know that your blgo exists, is a different ballgame.
OK Promotion and gaining readers go together. The first depends on our hard work and the second on our luck and the ability to convince readers.
