Voting for comments and entries in Forum
I have a suggestion to make to IndiBlogger team. Can we introduce some kind of voting for the forum entries and the replies.
The advantages are:
- People can easily read the most relevant topics and replies without going through each comment in a single thread. This could be a very tedious process if you are a newbie
- Indibloggers can upvote or downvote a particular topic or a comment rather than comment "I agree with you", "This is true" etc
- Indibloggers can catch up with the most happening topic and take part in it by which there will a good amount of interaction between the bloggers.
I understand that Indiblogger is a platform where the quality and quantity of discussions cannot be measured easily. But a system of voting can make sure that all the relevant points are heard by everyone especially newbie in Indiblogger.
What say my fellow bloggers? I would like to hear your opinions on this suggestions...So please start shooting your replies :)
good rating needs to be unique....i believe star rating is not yet implemented in any forum, other wild suggestion is like cricket score 1 to 6 in form of runs.......and cumulative effect shown as total score......Lolz For example if there are 10 comments with say scores of 4 & 6 combo, it could be total post will garner anywhere between 40 to 60 points how is the idea guys.

Star rating would be ideal, have 5 stars * * * * * extreme right should indicate 5 star rating simple as that. 3 star would indicate above average and 5 star would indicate excellent.

This is a wonderful idea. And it will be very useful too.
We are giving +1s and +99s to people in comments. It would be great if we can +1 a comment or a forum topic directly through a button or something instead of commenting +1 and all.

Thats nice some efforts are saved in typing +1 everytime .
I would like to see this idea in action. I'm sure the Inditeam is very busy with the IndiRank upgrade right now but whenever they have a minute, this would be a great feature to add.

Voting in the forum! Sounds good. 
I was referring to something like what we have in stackoverflow.com and its sister websites...This system seems to work well in these websites. As I mentioned earlier we will need to tweak these voting system to suit our Indiblogger...
I think most of you who replied has got the same idea... Thanks a lot for your replies...Probably we can make our forums more effective in this way..

I agree, maybe have something like facebook's "Like" button, more like has more relevance and the user can sort the comments based on the likes or the time/date of posting.
