If I use disqus for comments what will happen to my old comments?
I do not use disqus since one cannot write a comment from mobile phone in disqus
it's ok then we will not discuss. :):)
Old comments can be integrated with the new comments..... Oh no! You have already added disqus comments to your blog.
I had requested for Google adsense account for my blog - http://cricketwise.blogspot.com/
But I got this reply from google -
Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. Unfortunately, after reviewing your application, we're unable to accept you into Google AdSense at this time. We did not approve your application for the reasons listed below. Issues: - Page type --------------------- Further detail: Page type: Your website is a type of website that we do not currently accept into our program. Such websites include, but are not limited to, chat sites, sites that drive traffic through cybersquatting, and sites that use excessive keywords in the content or code of their pages.
What does it mean??? I am totally clueless
@ DS I too got the same reply each of teh time when I had applied for adsense. I had applied in the first month of blogging some three or four times. The first time it took some days for me to get the reply of rejection. The remaining times, I did get the rejection mail within hours. I wonder if they had gone through my application.
For the time being, don't resubmit your application. Wait for one or two months. make your blog look better in terms of design. Those who look at our applications are also humans, so they too might be affected by teh first look. Rearragnge the gadgets. before you submit your application, remove the followers gadget. I'm not sure but I read somewhere that traffic is essential to get accepted.
And coming to what has been stated; did you use PTC or Paid to surf programs to drive traffic?
It is generally difficult to get free blogs accepted into adsense. Move your blog to a custom domain if you really wish to make money from your blog. Otherwise go for other ad networks like www.bidvertiser.com where every blog is accepted.
.... A few more days and I will answer your question. Currently busy in other things. Will be back soon. :-)
PTC and Paid to surf sites are the one where you are paid to view other websites. You are paid with 0.01$ (most of time) for a 30 seconds view. There are also PTC sites where the rate is a s low as 0.001$.
A few website owners advertise on these sites for tarffic at low cost. The traffic however does not convert into anything useful because people just click ads on some 6 or 7 PTC sites at once.
Google does not allow sites that advertise on PTC sites into their Adsense program. Check your traffic sources if there are any such or similar sites.
Apart from PTC sites you should not be a part of any traffic exchange, banner exchange or other similar programs.
Try adding pages like Terms of service, Privacu policy and other similar things. I raed somewhere that these pages are required.
Google also states that a top level domain is required but I'm not very sure about it. The best thing would be to have a custom domain if you want to get accepted into adsense.
@ Arti You can help everyone here (including me) who wish to be accepted into adsense. Can you please answer these questions:
In which year and month was your application accepted?
Were you accepted the first time you submitted your application?
How old was your blog then?
What the traffic you were receiving at that time per day, pageviews and visitors?
How many followers did you have then (via Google friend connect)
Thanks in advance.
Thoise who wish to get accepted into adsense can check their stats against yours. Since Google is becoming more and miore specific, we need to have better stats than the ones you are going to mention.
@Ranjith Though I dont remember very correctly all these stats and I dont think I can verify them all now, but this is the info from my vague memories...
In which year and month was your application accepted? Dec 2010
Were you accepted the first time you submitted your application? Yes
How old was your blog then? Around 1 yr old, started blogging in oct 2009
What the traffic you were receiving at that time per day, pageviews and visitors? Now this is tough, It was good around 500 pageviews and GPR was 2
How many followers did you have then (via Google friend connect)? 150 up i think!
Regarding your other question @DS check this: http://bloggerstop.net/2009/05/add-search-box-to-your-blog-header.html
blogger in draft new interface suchha problem!!!! no horizontal and vertical scroll bar, i can't edit pages. i made blogger as defualt my regional lang options are missing.......!
has nybody tried it? yet without probs.
The scroll bars are not needed i suppose... And which pages? are you meaning the posts or something else?
Havent made it to default yet but i think the regional option is there just next to that make 'blogger in draft your default' checkbox.
When we edit post we have scroll bars there but new interface is missing that. and static pages like testimonials....I didn't make blogger in draft default then published it. otherwise it was not possible.
mohini ji, do you use the transliteration button to convert to regional languages?
@Abhi yes! but blogger in draft had better transliteration. but it's not now.
I think it is a know inssue in blogger in draft. I went thru the help forums, here is a relevant link
http://knownissues.blogspot.com/2011/07/weve-temporarily-disabled.html
I have a query too!
I want to install read more for my posts since I have a lot of images.
I want it customized like a few words from the post plus the first image of that post should appear followed by the read more link on the home page.
How can that be done in blogspot?
add jump break......see when we edit at top there are icons for link, image.....and jump break..it's pic of broken page.
so where you want the break just keep curser that position and click jump break.
see your post in home page, it will look what you have mentioned above.
Yes, like mohiniji replied, jump breaks can be very useful . And they increase the pageviews as well :P
To make a customized jumb button.
1)first design a button and upload it to some image hosting service i would suggest tinypic
2)got to design-->edit html-->click on expand widget templates.
3)search for the "<data:post.body/>" and right below it paste this code
<b:if cond='data:post.hasJumpLink'><div class='jump-link'><a expr:href='data:post.url + "#more"'><img height='19' src='Paste here the url of the image of the read more button ' style='height: 24px;' width='81'/></a></div></b:if>
Note:- this is what i did to add read more button. Thank you and have a nice day.
@Mayur can you elaborate more what is customized jump break? I have seen people can add any lines which are important. But I can make it from strting only.
@Abhi, I keep 10 posts on home page, what do you think good no. 5 or 7. I think people read first 5 only.
Thank you @Mohini got it Thanks :)
@abhi Thanks :)
@mayur Ya, that is nice, customized jump break button. Thank you :)
But I am looking for some further customizations -
Lets see this through an example - Suppose I have a 700 word post with the first image appearing after 500 words. So then, I wish to see '100 words+ the first image followed by the read more button'.
And this should be the pattern followed for all my posts that i publish. Cant this be done automatically like by adding some code to the template so that the post gets sliced by itself as soon as i hit the publish button and I don't have to manually provide the jump break while publishing each of my post?
Hi, The option for writing in Hindi is not activated in my blogspot account. It was activated in my account initially but now i cannot find it anywhere.
@Swati I assume you are using out the new blogger interface. Though I myself dont use this feature but did some RnD for you on this :) You could try this out and see if this works..
Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> language and formatting -> Change the language to Hindi.
Then Goto New post. You shud see that transliteration symbol in the editor towards the end next to the book icon. You can check the Hindi option and start typing your post!
