How much has your writing changed?

I started blogging five years ago when I was a teen. The only change between then and now that I can see in my writing is better vocabulary and more maturity.

actually i need somebody to taught me English....

i guess this 'taught' was intentionally placed ;)

I started out my blog 2 years back to be a sketching and comic strip blog but I realized I have a thing for writing... As I got more and more followers, I realized I spend more time writing writing a post than before and I realized that spending enough time on each post makes a lot of difference... so my writing process is now more refined which is reflected in my writing too :)

I've been blogging - on and off - since 2006. And I think there is a huge difference. Earlier I used to write posts without any specific topic. Gradually I've tried to establish a niche, but I still wander between themes I write on.

I've deleted most of my first blog posts, some time ago, for a variety of reasons. Whatever it is, I'm proud the way my blog is turning out these days!!!

I think that as our blogs move ahead, we find out a little bit about what matters to us, by finding out the topics we return to again and again after all that we can say has run out. :) 

Sometimes, I find most of the posts in my blog... well... good for nothing. I have thought of deleting them a lot of times... But still, I never do that.  Don't know why.

I'm a blogger since 2008 and at present, I've successfully completed writing my 27th post of my blog.  Its not really an achievement, I know. I should have done better. Today, I'm recognized as a writer among some of my internet friends! To be frank, it is an achievement. If there is something appreciable in my language today, it is just because of my blog. I used to think a lot in English for blogging and I got a lot of posts in my drafts yet to be published.

What helped me to analyze is a fact that I deleted my first post because of low quality literature and irrelevant sentences. I'm not a good reader(possibly, less than 10 books in 3-4 years) and I'm still adjusting with my available english vocabulary(just truths) . I know, I'm not perfect in what I'm doing but I'm proud to say that I can handle some understandable english today!!

Hi Raghu, 

One of my friends told me recently that writing letters to her friends really helped her improve her writing skills. I think blogging is about the same. Because you are forced to keep on stringing together sentences, you're likely to become better at writing.

I think i've shifted poles after starting this blogging. I wanna add, its just my thought! Grammer could have improved, topics i choose, have changed poles for sure, and my outlook of my blog has changed for sure, for much of the earlier part, it was something that killed my boredom, now i take it a bit more seriously!

Thanks Naveen, I noticed some changes in my own writing since 4 months (and a phenomenal change since the earliest blog of mine I could find - blah, I sound like a very irritating kid in that blog) so I was interested to see if others felt the same. 

So, when you say that the topics have changed, do you think more about the people reading? (I do...) 

Yup, surely. I think that's visible in my writings too! Atleast i try to make it a point! :D

I feel the same Naveen...I write a little less for myself and a little more for other people. I also review more popular books (though not always - because it depends on what I read.) 

Lesser typos and better grammar..........there are still many errors and my guru Aldeena is giving me quiet a training, I'm glad to add I'm improving!

That is nice. :) And yes, obviously, the road to improvement lies through loads of practise...
