Hi All,

Do insist on buying and celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with only those eco-friendly idols made of natural clay without any painted colors. Here is a list of places/vendors to buy eco-friendly Ganesha idols. I have published a post for Bangalore under the title "PROJECT GREEN GANESHA". Please do your bit for your city too and link it up here. I shall update this post with all those posts aggregated under a city name. This will not only help us 'Going Green' but will make a huge impact as we spread awareness through the blogging community. This is our chance to make a difference in the society. Please do take part.

It is time now to start a Project Green Durga now. Durgaji's idols are even larger and have n more of the toxic paints.

Sir,

Indeed, it was in Pune that Lokmanya Tilak initiated the concept of the "Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav" - the collective communal celebration of the festival of Lord Ganesha.Indeed, it was in Pune that Lokmanya Tilak initiated the concept of the "Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav" - the collective communal celebration of the festival of Lord Ganesha. And still tradition is on.

yeah Mohan, for sure. I have already spread the word for this. The issue here is that last year the experience has been on a down side with Green idols, however we still can have hopes.
