Ragging-a window to hell?
Again another student became a victim of brutal ragging and this time also no one was able to make things much better so that no such incident could happen in the future. Hence now I ask you the youth on Indibloggers, isn't there really no way to stop up this mess?
My views-"There should be a Toll free national helpline no to register a complain and the criminals should get life imprisonment".Link
What do you say?
well i have some realistic views about it...
The ragging term itself has to individualized... I feel ragging is very important in building up good senior- junior relationships.. at the same time.. it shud be harmless, i dnt like physical ragging, dnt beat up ur juniors.. At the same time its fun, u get do all sort of wierd stuff.. which u wud never do in your life..
The recent incident was really unfortunate. Nothing can justify, such kind of ragging..
"Nowdays we have animals who study veterinary medicine.."-Absolutely correct. But if the police is being ignorant, then that doesn't mean we should close up this chapter.
@ Shashi- That's the problem man, we all including the college admin. thinks it healthy and imp. for building up good understanding b/w juniors nd seniors. But from this approach only this problem take off its wings. The college totally neglect this fact that every student is not the same, hence forget to provide any help to the juniors. Moreover if any student complain also, they just never take it seriously. And as a result another student get ragged into the death slowly and slowly.
I agreee with Shashi about the fact that harmless ragging helps build good senior-junior relatioships. I have had lots of experience to be making that statement.
@Ernest,
If i had to close this chapter then why would have posted this topic her? Anyway i agree with your point, absolutely in this corrupt time every1 of us should appreciate media as they are the one who r ringing out the bells in the respective authorities ear.
@pavan
i too agree on it. But this topic basically asking you that what can be done to stop brutal ragging incidents?..
Well a view can be many a time juniors too can make difference by taking a strong stance. I have seen them backing of from giving in names of people disturbing them simply for pesky reasons like I need to be part of that group. So it is always once own choice, if they think that going for a little ragging and enjoying the fun group provides is better then so it be. But for those attempting I must say they should act with courage, no one can master your life just dare and push yourself to speak your mind. You are not wrong so you need not punish yourself. Hope this ragging turns into good interaction as its fun on most ocassions, have many positive reviews about it and seniors should be careful in letting juniors choose for themselves.
