Hi fellow indibloggers,

I'm looking for a list of blog directories that are free and good :) I'm not sure if indiblogger has any policy against - having a blog listed under multiple blog directories. Any kind of feedback on my blog would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Hi Anurag,

My idea is that.. more the number of directories you're blog is listed under - the more popular. Different directories use their own indexing techniques. Search engines use different algorithms so I guess it all comes down to making your blog easily searchable.

What is the benefit of a directory? I understand the concept of IndiBlogger, but not that of a directory. Finding my blog in a directory seems tougher than finding a lost One Rupee Coin lost somewhere near the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean.

hw tuff dat example was....

Just a one Rupee Coin..

Undecided

i think directories help only if they belong to your niche...I have regularly been receiving traffic from a few directories I registered on..So I'm not complaining :D

wow! this was a very informative discussion!

Technorati.com is an absloute essential. (It's an aggregator not a directory.)

Then blogcatalog.com as mentioned above along with these:

Blogflux http://dir.blogflux.com/

bloggapedia.com

globeofblogs.com

blogarama.com

bloglisting.net

A lot of directories just disappear over time.

Besides there are directories for specific interests and types of bloggers. E.g: Directories for women bloggers, indian bloggers etc. You will have to google for what suits you.

@ Vijay: You'll never get his comments. Here's how the story goes about this guy. The first letter of his name went missing and since then he is seen doing ha hu ha in the forum. Just a matter of time; you'll also get used to it. Laughing

Thanks for the reply vijay, I tried googling, but most of them were free only to register and then took me to the dreaded price page when I clicked on submit blog :)

I've seen many blogs with those directory banners. I'd be pleased if you could post links of directories. I will visit your blog and post comments :)

Lol..I'd be glad if you visit my blog and post comments if you like the content...

but that has nothing to do with me providing you the list of directories, I would have done it any way..

I had the link bookmarked..

http://www.toprankblog.com/rss-blog-directories/

This is a good page, it mentions if the directories are free or paid ones..

Cheers mate.
