Do you think google's 'monetising' for blogger works?
After blogging for ten-odd months and recently joining indiblogger (two months ago), I have figured that people are actually visiting-reading my blog.
Naturally the temptation to 'monetise' my blog is big.
Would like to know if anyone out there (not the Amit Verma-types please) has monetised their blogs and earned real money from it?
Thanks.
Hey I've been blogging for 2-3 years, but seriously blogging since a few months (I joined IndiBlogger 4 months ago)
My AdSense revenue has just reached double digits a week ago! So you can guess how much that is! It moves very slow too.
But so many people earn top dollar from there. I think it depends on your focus. Are you blogging for money? You can make it happen. Otherwise, forget about it.
My Ads are still on my blog. I figured, if I can cash a cheque in a year or two, what the heck!
I need to add one more thing. I didn't figure out what the reference to Amit Verma actually means. Care to elaborate?
I think this may help with regards to Amit Verma http://indiauncut.com/
Thanks Magali,
Your reply resonates with my view also: I am not blogging to make a living from it. I blog because I have itchy fingers which rest only when I write!
Yup. A little pocket money is always welcome - that approach always works.
Amit Verma is an ex-journalist who started blogging very early and is laughing to the bank all the way. His blog is http://indiauncut.com/
Deven
Itchy fingers, I like the approach!
I know him, the author of My Friend Sancho. I read the book it was freakin' hilarious! There were a couple (oh wait, more than that!) of references to India uncut in the novel. How it was the lead character's favorite blog, how he visited it every day to get the best news about India. I found that quite a put-off. Nonetheless, it was an entertaining read!
But I don't visit it.
Dear Magali,
Yup, Sancho was funny and in a way an extension of his blog... As far as advertising his blog in his book goes, Verma is quite shameless. He used the blog to promote his book and book tours and continues to use it to promote his wife's exhibitions!
I visited your blog too. Nice. Keep writing!
i have also monitized my plzzz...plzzz have a look....and if u click add,,,that willa great boost for me... http://drugtreatme.blogspot.com/
