does the blog always have to be intellectual?
i wonder why why do we have to become super intelectual to catch attention in the blogging world i am here lookin for real life stories which maybe interwined with intellectual topics but i want the common man's success any one here who's blog deals with that
i just changed it now commenting is enabled
@cloud wandrer thanku i think some problem with my theme i ll have to seriously look into it u can try again later today thanks again
oh really thanx a lot man ill just look into it thanksagain though
@ cloud wanderer its a good topic ;)
@Richa!!!!
Hey forgot to tell ya!!
I cannot comment on your blog...
On clicking on the post comment link , nothing happens!!!
@deepak i am quite glad u finally understood why i had put up the topic it was more rhetorical in nature so u do agree with my point of view of how a section of such sites should be present where a slice of realism intellectual or non intellectual should be offered to us
Richa, while I was hoping to peel away at how this is reflective of the way we are made up,what you observed strikes as a very relevant point indeed, especially on blog aggregators like indiblogger.
deepak my question wasnt a mere attention seeking or approval wanting from the outside world it was only actually the first thought that entered my mind when i saw the absence of a personal topic on the list of indi vine i like writing articles and i didnt feel like writing on ne of the topics already mentioned i though tthere would be sumthng more real kind bt there wasnt that prompted the thought that whether our blogs have become a mirror of only social concerns and topics
sod the conventional definitions of 'intellectual' and forget about using big words just because 'you must'. we're your readers and we want a piece of YOU and a slice of cenventionalism. Be yourself, write your thoughts... we want to know that you're like us.. but different :) good luck xx
Richa, you are possibly missing the right question...the need to seek recognition from the outside- that itself needs to be questioned..as long as one has assumed you need to get attention from the outer world to approve your thoughts and ideas..you will find your attention engaged with measuring the success or failure of your attempts..blogs are but one of the million ways one expresses himself or herself..whether personal or otherwise...they will grab your attention if that is what you are tuned to receive from the outside..can you watch how you are tuned?..you may find that one single blog which will enslave your attention and passion for a lifetime and the attention will shift from measuring the momentum of personal blogging to fulfilling that passion - can you watch the attention..not what it shines on.?you say you have been blogging for long and you are still left with the question..I can see your answer in those lines of yours..you have expressed yourself enough to still come by and wonder what does one need to do get more attention to his/her thoughts..you have come to see the pointless exercise our minds engage in looking for self-assurdeness from the outer world..you already have learnt it..can you accept it...and still continue to give expression to that voice.?
Going by the definition a blog is a web log of activities taken up by the writer of the blog. The medium essentially came as a substitue for 'my diary' as it was more convineint to put your thoughts, store them or evn publish them in case you would want others to comment on them or read them.
Over the past few years as mainstream news is becoming highly commercialised many bloggers are using it to form and share opinions.
So basically 'to each his own' - nothing to do with being intellectual or humorous or sarcastic.
My 8 year old daughter has made her own blog and she just puts her pictures and drawings on it.You can check them out at www.ananya01.wordpress.com
@deepak thanx for the appreciation and i knw what ur sayng but my concern is still the same even if u have been blogging for a long time then why hasnt the section " personal blogs " gained a great deal of momentum i find few takers for that
@anoop i would like to say that i know being a blogger that we can blog about nethng but my query had come out of indiblogger vine section where one can post articles related to all serious stuff and why nt just pure simple blogging id like to read wht ppl face wht a common man like me faces wht he feels when he gets his daily dose of news or daily dose of problems...... even a poets life is nt just poetry its much more i want all his poems and his life
Richa, your question grabs the attention. If you have been blogging long enough, your writing would have found a comfort with your natural sense of expression. Then it will not come out from you wondering if it is intellectual or not. It just is 'your' expression. Those labels like intellectual , super intellectual are for your readers to attach. If the voice in your writing is clear, it does not matter even if it comes across as intellectual or mundane. The human mind simply loves these inconsequential labels. I would rather pay attention to what is being expressed and leave the judging of the expression to the 'reality TV judges mindset'. More power to your expression, keep it coming. I have loved the splash of personality that comes through from your blog.
Nah, I dont think so...
Not necessarily Madame Richa, It can be funny, witty, outright wacky and yet be a popular blog.
What you are trying is something I have not heard of in a blog format (I think thats what they call 'niche' blogs) such unique ideas can also gain popularity due to their uniqueness. As a blogger myself, I would encourage you to go ahead with your idea and continue your search.
However as Anoop mentioned above regularity in posting and content are the two most important factors that contribute to the popularity of a blog.
blogging is very field oriented .. If you are a sports or technology/gadget writer you might have many people wanting to hear opinions of different blogs .. but there are other niche fields like poetry (just an example) where very few people might participate actively .. so i guess it is just the field you write about in general and the potential that the field has ..
As far as success goes .. if you can blog regularly, there are people who will be benefitted and that in itself is a success.. so just keep blogging i say :)
