Is both HTTP and HTTPS versions should be verified in Webmaster Tools?
I am struggling to get solution of issue which i am currently facing. We have recently upgraded our website with SSL and redirected the entire site from http to https with all urls. The site is currently added to Google Webmaster Tools as www.pnrstatusbuzz.in and all the pages are indexed without using SSL. Do I just submit a updated sitemap which has the HTTPS URLs or Do I add a new site as https://www.pnrstatusbuzz.in and submit the sitemap with HTTPS urls?
Ideally, you should have 4 listing if you have SSL- http with non www, http with www, https with non www and https with www. All you have to do is have the same sitemap (or sitemaps if you have one separately for image sitemap and compressed sitemap form) same authorization type and same site appearance URL in search.
Sorcerer sir, what you are saying is used for when redirecting from one domain to another domain. And what i am doing or want to do is from http to https on same domain.
Google Webmaster (now called as search console) treats http/https/www/non-www as different sites. I am not sure why they do that. But you can update the domain URL rather than creating another web property listing. In search console, open your web property with https. Then click on the gear icon and you will see an option "change of address". Follow the instructions and checklist accordingly.
