Thank you so much, Arjun for your kind inputs.

Wordpress is simpler than all other CMS. I first thought of setting up my blog on drupal & then found out that it was incredibly tough to learn & so i decided to go to WP.

Haven't tried Joomla so far.

WP has now updated to 4.6 & has some neat features like saving the text in your post draft to browser cache which helps if you lost the internet connection for a moment before saving.

My advice is to stick with WP.

Guys thank you so much for your kind respond. Yes, I am new to WordPress and blogging. I have a lot of knowledge about Joomla but most of the popular blogger used WordPress and now I am thinking of shifting to WordPress and create one blog for myself . As being a user of  Joomla for quite a long time, sometimes I am very confused which one to choose. I did a research yesterday, and now I can come to conclude that Wordpress is quite better than Joomla in terms of Search Engine Optimisation But Joomla, on the other hand,  is more flexible than WordPress.  Wordpress is for Blogging, Joomla is for Corporate and other websites. ( as per my research )

Yes, Content matters first I am strongly agreed with that too. They said 'Content Is King'.

Kind Regards,

Suan

New to blogging but "user of  Joomla for quite a long time" :-/.

If you are a Joomla expert then try to guide the members over here in case if they raise a question related to it :P.

Yes, content is King and SEO / result is Queen :P.

Most news websites use some ancient and outdated CMS system. First post websites were migrated to WordPress followed by massive error 404 with many links and broken older articles. But eventually, they seem to have got most of it under control. Alas websites like TOI will think a lot before making that jump. moral of the story? whether you are an individual or company if you can take care of it and manage it its your choice. but wp has that ability that it grows on newbies for basic troubleshooting. if something happens, i google it out and i eventually find out a solution. community support is important.out of the box plugins and expansion, ability to swap themes and framework without screwing the site is important. WP does that for me. Plus regular updates.

Agree with HR, content matters and not the platform. However, my vote for Wordpress, for it's ease of installation, navigation and usability for a beginner.

If you are new to blogging world then proceed with Wordpress and if you are an old one in blogging world then go also with Joomla. In general, creating blog is not an important one but filling the unique content regularly is Laughing.
