Hey guys,

I have made up my mind to switch from blogger to worpress, because my blog is becomming popular, and I want more flexibility in design and addons. If some one has done it before, please tell me what precautions I need to take.

Thanks.

It's like comparing a truck to a sports car. They are both capable of taking a person from Point A to Point B. Which is better?

In India, truck off source !! Any day.. Better road presense.. safe...

Hi,

I being a WordPress user would always prefer my website to be in WP but please note, yes although WP can give you endless possibility of modification and customization but with a cost..

Popular your website goes, more modification you do, all these will require more and more spending for better hosting resources which, mind you doesn't come cheap and easy..

Stay with blogger if you can manage their customization upto your satisfactory mark since there, resource is headache of Google :P, and you can only concentrate on blog..

Thanks..

You are comparing a self-hosted Wordpress blog to a Google hosted Blogger. You should be comparing Blogger to Wordpress.com. Then you'll be comparing apples to apples.

Your comments won't mean much in that comparison.

Why ??

Be it self hosted and be it WP hosted or Blogger (Google Hosted), they all serve one purpose.. Blogging.. So why should not I compare ??

Your comments won't mean much in that comparison.

I guess that varies on your own requirement !!!

Should I import my blogger blog to wordpress?

Correct answer: Yes.  Laughing

To Wordpress.com, I'm presuming.  Not a self hosted Wordpress.org blog. I have done it in the past.

I think he meant, wp.org. blogger is more flexible compared to wp.com and wp addons can be used only on self hosted WP.

and I want more flexibility in design and addons

Well the OP hasn't been seen since he posted his question, leaving us to debat what he meant...

Blogger sucks in my my book, I'm afraid. I tried it for a year or so and could not get the blog to look they way I wanted it to. I find WP.COM way simpler to negotiate with.

With a self-hosted WP (.org) you have a lot of flexibility and add ons. I have a self-hosted blog too, btw, which is not on IB. I would never go back to Blogger. Hate the fonts, hate the layouts and the less said about the comment features the better. It may have changed since I moved away a few years ago, but I still have trouble posting comments on Blogger posts, so can't say much as changed there.

Maybe I just did not try hard enough. But I ain't going back to Blogger. Nope!

Better to take help of some WP master.  It involves lot of nitty gritty
