You could put categories for Global/ Indian/ State wise / Local events, for better organisation of blog posts.
Also, add your own comments on the said event too, so that the blog gets a special personal touch.

Hi, a nice blog on a great topic, I have seen very few blogs which talks about the topic you cover. As mentioned above use categories for better user experience. Also I see that the rectangular banner advertisement on the sidebar overlays the background, see if you can add a skyscraper banner instead of that, so that it looks neat.
