What's that smell, boss?
This could be the smelliest contest ever!
I'd said I'd write for this one, 2 days back.
Left it for today, went blank in the ideas, a real - life incident reminded to me, at 10 'o' clock in the night, I come up with my FIRST EVER Humorous Take for a blog post in 2 hours.
I've made an earnest attempt. Let's see how my Olfactory Oopsy Daisy turns out to be!
Finallhy you did it
Submitted my final take on the topic yesterday. This time a fictional story.
As there was no extension, I skipped this contest and with this I bow out of contests arena once again. All contestants, so long and thank you for all the fish.
Fish smells yuck!
Fish? Hey you are not ging anywhere...Not allowing :)
Contests have once again lost their freshness for me. So I will go away for sometime and then make a return again later if I feel like.
@TF But I think this one and #ConditionSeriousHai were good concepts
Loved writing for this one! Best wishes to everyone.
The prizes were to be announced today, right? When and where? I see my article is now puclished on indivine but where is the announcement of prizes???
Today is not the day for declaration of results. Today is the day for making the entries visible.
It will take 2-3 months for the results to be declared.
Had a gala time writing for this one! :-) Time to enjoy other entries too! Hope some people have read mine!
I am changing the layout of my blog.. blog template, colour, font etc. That should not be a problem right? Or they will reject my entry .. beacuse the screenshot that they might have taken will show drastic differences when compared with the changed blog page..
That won't cause any problem. What shouldn't change is the content of your post and not the design of your blog.
There are many incident in my life where i have encountered smelly people and the counter with them was ridiculous. Any ways past is past do live in future, i want to tell that i have recently opened a blog on Daily tips if anyone Interested then can visit here /snip/ only if you do wish............ :D :D
189 entries for the contest? can I make the cut, this time, for once atleast?? (btw, fingers crossed for 2 months I believe)
One query- Have always wanted to ask this- Is it allowed to increase or decrease the font size of our text in our Contest post?
I want to reduce the text-size...
Thanks Ranjipedia
Knew that photo resizing is allowed. Was doubtful about the text-font-size for the entire contest-Post.
Hi friends,
Iam a new blogger and this was my first entry for a contest, but it seems like there is a mistake in the link that i've submitted. It seems that i've missed the letter 'l' in the 'html' extension of my post. that which i noticed only today. is there anything that i can do?
Priya, Do raise a support ticket by contacting Team IB. Provide the correct link of your Post here-
Winners announced! (seriously, not a joke)
I don't see anything :P
Hahah..the joke turned out to be on you Renie, seriously! :D
Tell me about it! That was slightly embarrassing.
Haha, happens. I do typos all the time! Butter fingers!
Condition serious :P
Ha ha ha..... I'm so sorry people.... wrong thread!!
#ConditionSeriousHai!
My pleasure, Priya
Best wishes!
Oh! Just spotted my name the "India-Pattani" winners list. Please guide me to a thread which explains this? Thanks :)
Okay. But what is the meaning of this prize? Like early bird has a meaning.
this is also early bird of a kind...and congrats
Sorry, for repititive question. Reading other posts confused me all the more. Hence asked again. Still dont understand the category clearly though :-)
Thanks Nandini.
See renie's explanation on this page >> http://www.indiblogger.in/forum/topic.php?pageNum_Posts=6&totalRows_Posts=125&id=18390
The early bird prizes were given to the first 20 entries received, minus a few which didn't conform to the topic. Most of the entries were submitted withinhours of the contest going live!
The IndiPattanis were chosen out of the next ten (approx) entries - basically the point of the Indi-Pattani prizes is to get more entries coming in early - it becomes difficult to make an extend/no-extend decision when all the entries come in the last hour!
so..its basically same as early bird
Oh is it. But I cant be an early bird. I posted my entry on the last date. :-P
then u r a lucky bird
lol that is something which I can digest now
Congrats for your first IB win, Rachh!
Another set of Indi-pattani's announced, congrats to all the winners
Guys, if you win Indi-Pattani, are you still in the running for the big prize?
According to the arguments put forward by TF on this thread, only those who won Indi Pattanis would be in the race for the main prizes!
congrats
btw how many prize u want..leave something for others too
Thanks Ranjith and ND....And ND, I win small prizes. Big prizes are left for you
ive not won any big prizes
Yes FP. Pls go on one prize per basis
NSV
Pls go on one prize per basis
So, no more prizes for you also.
ND, who won 1st prize of KOI contest?
there are many who won 1st prize many times...tumko sirf koi hi yaad aate hai
Congrats!!
People commenting first on any of my indiblogger entry have somehow always won big prizes - just except me. So I think you're next.
@R I'm already content
@Aravind, thanks.
BTW, you should have told me about this logic sooner. I'd have had turned into a loyal first reader of all your contest posts by now
Yes ND. I remember KOI the most because my sweetie IronMan lost it to your pirates
ironman ka grahan laga diya small p nei...sab prizes khud le ja rahi hai dusro ke liye kuch nahi chorti ab
ND, until now I have never won anything big.
R, no Specifically, when you can't even buy a decent tab from that money
p....tere sab vouchers mila ke 2-3 tabs toh ho hi jayega
Congrats Pankti
Hey Ranjith,... is that true of what you say? : Only Indi Pattani winners are in the league for the big prizes. If that's true, then there's some dejection to shared folks.. :(
I didn't say that. Someone said that it might be the case. It is not an official word from Renie.
The logic is - supposeperson A has submitted his post in the first few days and has won the first prize but not an IndiPattani. This is logically not possible because if his entry was the best, then it was better than those who have won the IndiPattanis also. Also, it is not possible that the judges didn't give him the IndiPattani as they wanted to give him the first prize at the end. In that case, what if much better entries are submitted towards the end of the contest?
But if the judges for IndiPattani and main prizes are different, everyone has an equal chance,
I would like to believe that blogposts that won "Indi Pattani" and not early bird vouchers would not be in race for final 3-4 prizes as they already won a prize for that entry. Unless, we ran short in nos of valid /good entries [which we clearly have not], it would not make sense to award same post multiple prize. However, one blogger can get multiple prizes basis the multiple posts that he/she created for the contest and that too purely on merit of the content and the quality of post.
Second thing that scares me is plag-modifcation, an abridged version of blogging wherein blogger[s] read the already published entry, take the idea from there, modifies, adds more and posts at last hour and win te prizes :( I have seen a lot of posts which are identicle in nature and like the "tablet" example that Ranjith once quoted, they may belong to it or the "inspired" theory. What say folks?
I don't agree on the Indi-pattani post not winning big prizes. The reason: Indi-pattani is a kind of acknowledgement that the blogger wrote a good entry BEFORE time. And when the entry is good, why not consider it for a big prize, which are generally 1000x times better than Indi-pattani? If they stop considering Indi-Pattani winners for big prizes, I don't think anyone will write early because everyone wants a chance to win big and ultimately, the concept of Indi-Pattani will fail. I definitely wouldn't write early if Indi-Pattanis aren't considered for the final big prize. Hazaar rupee ke liya kaun marta hai
Whoa!, The debate's quite on a rage now.So, I think I am still in contention and that's all that matters to me the most!! keeping fingers crossed!!!
Rachh and FP,
Seems you have not read my point right. I said Indi pattani and not "early bird" prize.
Off course if a post was written much before time [and qualified for early bird] can stand a chance for grand prizes..there is no doubt about it.
The doubt is regarding the Indi-pattani prize wrt this contest where there is already an "early bird" prize given to first X no of entries. The "Indi pattani are chosen at different intervals extending till the last hour of contest. I still did not understand the logic of Indi Pattani here as I read some blogger who won latest Indi pattani had claim to posted her entry at last hour.
Yes , the argument of "why declare them now" is valid though and that made me thinking too.
But to say that the entries that did not made for Indi Pattanis [this contest] was not good enough and hence not chosen for Indi Pattani is not fair. Does this mean that "Indi pattani" is a sort of qualifiers here and top 3 winners would be chosen from them?
i think indi pattannis have equal chance for final prize...they are also one kinda early bird only --- patani means bird
when indi patanis were first introduced this link was given >> http://samosapedia.com/entries/15263/Enthu-Pattani
Agree but then why don't we combine the "Indi pattani" and "early bird" together to make one? Why two names?
as I read some blogger who won latest Indi pattani had claim to posted her entry at last hour.
may be all entries were considered for the last batch of indi pattanis
in this contest there was no indi patanis in the begining..there was only early birds....it was introduced later when everyone protested when it was said that early bird prizes will be chosen as per quality too....read the earlier posts in this thread also some of rio's thread where he raised the issue....only later indi patanis were added in too
check from renies comment onwards >> http://www.indiblogger.in/forum/topic.php?pageNum_Posts=1&totalRows_Posts=128&action=replied&id=18390
and also this thread >> http://www.indiblogger.in/forum/topic.php?id=18393
so midway indi patanis were introduced for this contest....
ND..I am Aware... the question is not what happened...the question is Indi Pattani and Early birds are same..then what is the criteria and whether of Indi _pattani in this contest, the same post can be top 3 winners or nont...or the non qualifying posts for Indi Pattanis, if they are in race too [I believe they are] However I am unsure other ways..no offense intended/ no judgement is being passed....eeeeeks
no in this contest they are not exactly same cos they had protested when early entries were to be judged for quality too --- so now, the eary birds are chosen who posted first day itself or earliest and indi patanis are judged on quality too besides being early posted i.e supposedly 2-3 days before last date as renie said ....i'm as confused as you are if they chose from last entries too ( as one won..not sure abt the others )
i think early bird+indi patanis+plus the rest ~ all are in race ( 1st two categories are like a bonus )
Whatever yaar Nandini.... results to announce hona maangta hi hai! waise bhi Ind pattani mein they have not chosen the blog posts but the bloggers..thus eliminate all questions whether they will be considered or not. Obviously they will be considered and looks like having high chance for top 3 prizes. SO Cheers...Results kab aayenge?
iska jawab standard answer 2-3 months hai
Ind pattani mein they have not chosen the blog posts but the bloggers
No! They have chosen blog posts and not bloggers. But they didn't display the post links because at that time, the entries were hidden. Also, one blogger won two early bird prizeswhich proves that they have chosen blog posts and not bloggers.
Renie, any news on results, mate?
