What's that smell, boss?
This could be the smelliest contest ever!
Sorry for the late response on this folks - the early bird entries don't go to the first 20 posts, that wouldn't make any sense; instead they will be announced at regular intervals throughout the contest as entries come in. Basically, any post that isn't submitted in the last 2-3 days qualifies for an early bird!
LOL....this is hilarious!
Ah! That is much better - Some compensation for posts not making it to the top of the popularity lists.
they will be announced at regular intervals throughout the contest as entries come in
I didn't get this
The logic is weird, I'm not able to get this. How will someone know there entry is "early bird" and will you announce the time from when the entries won't qualify for early bird. Because this will only create confusion.
any post that isn't submitted in the last 2-3 days qualifies for an early bird!
Early bird refers first come first serve, it's not "early bird" rather consolation prize.
how will it be selected? what will it be the criteria?
the early bird entries ... will be announced at regular intervals throughout the contest as entries come in.
Renie, If this is the case, then why not make the entries public as & when they are posted (like IndiSpire & DoRight?)
What is the point of keeping the entries hidden if winners will be announced at regular intervals?
Also, another Qn- When will IB take the snapshott for this contest? As soon as we submit the entry? (And not at the end of the contest?)
I have just written my entry... Wondering what to do... Waiting for your answers...
20 hearts broke.
lol...
haha rio.....dont worry...u may still win
Anyway I could not have written my post any better, even if I thought all the time till April 10th.
I think most happy of all to hear this is Ranjith, enjoying the plight of 20,
I am enjoying the fact that I still have a chance to win one of those vouchers.
U can throw in more characters and bring out a fresh smellyu post Rio
hahahahaha... just read this ....now I can think to write this topic ... hehehehheeh soooooo happyyyyyyyyy
I agree with Renie just writing a post early should not win it should be good enough to qualify as an early bird winner. Early bird prizes will create a good number of participation during the contest. A good step I must say..
@Anita I agree with your point of displaying of the entries during the contest.
@Aditya, Yes, early bird prizes surely motivate and encourage us to post early.
I feel entries should be displayed during the contest as people will anyhow know about the early bird winners before the end of the contest...
i dont agree entries being displayed...even in some other contests there were early bird or indi patanni and were fine without entries displayed
@ND, I suggested making entries public as result announcement will be an ongoing process at regular intervals throughout the contest.
Hidden entries are great if all the winning entries - grand-prize winners as well as early-birds- are declared after the contest.
they'll just announce couple of early birds during the contest...rest of early birds they'll announce later on...thats my understanding....
Hi Renie - a query!
Did not quite understand this new concept of Early Bird. I submitted my entry around 3am. Am uncertain about its fate now, does it qualify for the early bird?
i think it'll be considered along with posts that come in...only entries posted on last few days wont be considered
Since which post will be considered "early bird" and what will be the selecting criteria is not clear...it will only lead to confusion.
So whoever posts before 7th April will be considered an early bird and the best 20 among them win. That is how I read Renie's reply
@Narasimha - That's how you interpreted it but it's not clear from Renie's comment. Exact date and time should be mentioned like you wrote 7th April. It should be like 48 or 72 hrs before the end of the event.
@Renie
Please inform about the Snapshot for this contest.
No edit-changes allowed after submitting Post now? Normally, Snapshots are taken just after deadline, right?
I will vote for any idea that gets me a prize
If i get 20, I will certainly give u 19 of them
there were indi patanni prizes before too in some contests, i think they were chosen in similar manner too
no rio...indi patanni were mentioned when contest started
only this time they used word 'early bird' instead of 'indi patanni' , thats the only diff
They are rather blown away
There are so many smelly and stinking people around, everybody is able to relate to this
where does luck step in @DS, as per words of indiblogger it clearly stated earlybird prizes and those who stressed at the night at 3 am. to write the post to catch the early bird were duffers. you may expect the sky from indiblogger, no stopping there.
I think without reading the entries, one shouldn't demean it. Isn't writing impromptu a merit, thinking and comiung up with something in such small time does take merit. It was stated in the contest and I do agree we should reward entries based on merit.
true, gaurab, people react as if baseless entries get the prizes. if they announce earlybird, and we meet that challenge within the time frame, why inculcate a hoard of entries into the net. they should have explicitly mentioned it. My idea is precious for me. I risked it and put it up to get the earlybird atleast. now the tantrums.
plz somebody tell me wats the crux of early bird entries .. wat wud the criatria ..
The 20 vouchers would be given at regular intervals during the contest period.
They are called early bird because someone submitting early will have a greater chance of winning than someone submitting late. For example, if one person submits a post today and another person after fifteen days and 10 early bird prizes are given after ten days from now and remaining ten are given twenty days from now, the first person's chance of winning a voucher will be double that of the second person's chnce of winning.
I hope I didn't confuse you
In simpler words, try to submit as early as you can - within the next 5 - 10 days.
@R who told you this is the way the contest will be judged
I'm curious and also want to know if you are simply assuming all this
@ranjith - with your logic the same entry will be considered mutiple times It's good for me though
NSV That is how it works. There were early birds for Kitchens of India contest also
Gaurab
Ranjith .. yes u confused me .. but i am relax after reading renie is reply .. now I can write this entry aft the british airways
Gaurab.. same entry and multiple prizes (I am lovin it )
Laksmi Single entry - SIngle prize. You'll not get multiple prizes. It will simply be considered multiple times.
ok I remember seeing it. but thought that you were talking about some other contest.
On the early bird prizes - I see the confusion we caused, sorry about that! We should have been more explicit, and we'll make it up to you - I'll get back to you guys on exactly how we intend to do so!
Ohh no..faltu me I hurried up with my entry.. i thought first 20 will get the prize... sob sob.. and my post is not that great too :(
You can write another one.
@NSV... i read ur blog.. nice post in such short time :)
Thanks
Read Rio's post also. It is an even more nicer post - a wonderful real life story relavent to this context.
I too read NSVs and Rio both's. These are good.
thanks saket
Yes, I too got excited by early birds prizes and hurried my post by skipping breakfast et all to furnish my idea. [Not just prize but also a jest to break my record of submitting in last moment]. But soon after submitting my entry, I saw the rule being changed. Hmmm..
Never mind, I am ok with either way Team Indiblogger wants to do
Somehow I loved this topic and believe, can write tons and tons of pages on "stinky-smelly" people..Yeah I am the kind of who takes showers twice in a day, to get rid of all the smelly memories of the day [people I tell you, are so inconsiderate- they smoke on ur head, burp, belch n God knows what all].
I agree, we must [for a change] display all entries for this contest to accomodate Renie' idea of "early bird" prizes. Good idea Renie!
Its a funny post Rio.
And you can submit it for the next dove soap contest too.
I skipped my bath today to write for this.
Yeah Rio,
I have just so much of reaction to this idea. I will have to work really hard to restrict it into one post!
Great, GvS. You can bag multiple early bird prizes with your multiple posts!
Gosh I have many funny real life instances on this one but I am not sure whether to take the relations at stake for some prize...
Change the name of characters etc ...keep the story intact...characters can be little changed..lets read ur post :)
Option I- Ask them to buy you an iPhone or ipad to keep you mum, or else you would blog about them.
Option II- Make them stakeholders. Offer to share 50% of your prize and take their consent to blog about them.
Thankyou so much Ekta and Saket for your support! I have got time and published the post finally! Phew!!!! (without mention of names)
I have no time post an early bird entry but am actually glad that tables have turned this one time and people who write posts earlier get some thing in return !
Good job Indi and Renie
Yes. I think it will also serve as an encouragement or push for people to submit entries early.
Why's this silence, boss?
No It is because Racold is not giving water samples as participation prizes
3479 gallons *of maaza*
thumbs up for me...its also kinda water...liquidy liquidy
holi it is, and my character is basking in the stenchful naala,
How do we know which post is qualified for the "as and when" Indi Pattanis?
Ekta, Its like the game of musical chairs. The anchor will stop the music suddenly. We don't know when the music will stop. So keep running! Keep on writting a post a day....hee hee
they'll announce in twitter i think....they did for earlier indi patanis too
Hmmm...but writing a post everyday? Naaah! I need to earn money for living :(
can we still vouich for Early Bird! :P bwahahahah!
i think all entries are eligible for early bird before last few days of deadline
Not giving up hope. Are you Rio?
rio...
Rio - Why sad about your thread. You asked for healthy discussion and got 56 replies. How much more healthier can it get?
The only thing that is said is that they will make up for it and I think it's good news for the people who submitted early and allowed people to read their posts
