Done with this one as well. My 9th contest post in 2 months. Will post it on on the last date. Don't want to put it up now itself and then let it languish at the bottom of the pile of contest entries.

In the earlier scheme of things, I used to be the opening batsman on most contests - first day first show would be mine. But now unfortunately they open all entries together on last day taking away all the first mover advantage. 

ive no issues with current system too...its better for posts to remain hidden till last day

I will write on the last date. I'm good with deadlines 

I have issues - I used to get lot of votes and audience by going in on first day when everyone was scared of plagiarism and not posting. Now in this new system, even on last day I end up posting 2-3 hours before deadline in anticipation of technical issues or internat issues at my home. So still my post does not appear on top and I don't get so many readers.

Plagiarism and winning are last thing on my mind - I hardly ever win anything and my ideas and style are too unique to be plagiarized.

You can just post at the time of deadline and still end up being 2-3 hours in advance. The link stays open at least for 2 hours after 12 AFAIS

NSV TF is talking about a different thing. Earlier contest entries were made visible 5-10 days after the start of the contest and TF used to post in the beginning itself and his posts used to get good visibility spread throughout the contest period ( unlike the current scenario where everything gets over within 24 hours  ) The Popular posts tab which was the default then also used to increase visibility for early submitters.

It did not get extended. It was always the 12th.

 I thought that earlier it was 10th. 

I have beeen closely tracking this date in order to link it on the right date, Ranjith. So I know. I was surprised when Vijay kept mentioning somewhere that this content was extended to Friday. I think you must have got confused by that.

@Nandini - I heard fame had something to do with winning contests. Since I am not famous and can't do anything about it before the last date, I thought as well write a story that is famous.

Can i include somebody else's cartoons/sketches in the post while i give credit to them, will it be plaqued as plagiarism?

i did it last time in the colgate contest where i added a google image but forgot to give credit, i still fret if that had affected, most blogs have great images/sketches but alas i am terrible at arts and crafts

Going by copyright rules, you can't add someones pictures without taking their permission. But no one follows it. 

You can add the images after giving proper credit. ( for IB contests )

You can post the content in any format. 

No holds barred as far as creativity is concerned - you can as well make a video of yourself reading the post with animated action and post it and you will only improve chances of winning.
