What is Google Page Speed Score of Your Blog?
After huge tries, finally I got 99 score in Google Page Speed for my website and now its your time to check and tell what is your Page Speed score.
Reason: i was used link which i later know not allowed
The best you should go for is a combination of Y! Slow and Page Speed.
I have a PageSpeed score of 81 for my blog
You are not using WordPress, you are using Blogger platform. I can not suggest you plugin which is done in minutes. But I suggest to use optimized images for size. In photoshop while saving images go with option "save for web devices" and set your clarity to 60 which is lossless quality. You can save upto 40% of your image size...
OMG! I just checked mine and it says... 79/100 for mobile and 38/100 for desktop I know it's real bad! What can I do to increase it?
Mobile score is OK. But search engine's follow Desktop score to rak you in top. You must care on website's good and lighweight theme. No body likes slow website especially when you have countinious visitors flow.
I am presently using a simple blog template. Can you please check out my blog and say what is slowing it down? Except the images ofcourse...
Bushra, you are showing full posts ( instead of post snippets ) on your home page, so your page loading time will definitely be too high, especially considering the number of pictures you put in each post. So, there is hardly anything you can do and I know that you don't want to reduce the images in your posts and decrease your chances of winning.
If you check your score for some other page, for ex, the latest post, you will see that it is in 70's. So, not that bad.
If you want to increase your score, one simple way is to show only post snippets on the home page ( using page breaks which many do )
Ranjith, my home page doesn't show snipets...still ok score....but yes, I don't put as many pics as Bushra does.
And, just follow the suggestions shown by google in the test report.
Optimizing images : The first image it is showing definitely needs compression.
Eliminate rendering JS and CSS in above the fold content : I think this can be done for the Google+ part. See here : https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/UseAsync : doc, blog post
Leverage Browser Caching : This is not in your control, so ignore.
@Pankti Right, Images is the main thing here : see the number of images on her home page.
Even five-six complete blog posts won't have the size of a single image.
Thank you so much for the info Ranjith and yes I don't want to reduce the images in my posts and decrease myyour chances of winning Now how should I get these snippets for my blog? Is there any free way to do it?
Ranjith I dunno anything about this JS and CSS but I know that my BIG images look beautiful
Bushra, see my blog and you'll know what snippets are. Instead of displaying the entire post on the home page, you show only the first few lines or paras.
Go to your blogger dashboard and open the latest post for editing. Place the cursor after the first one or two paras. Click the 'Insert Jump Break' icon.
You will get a horizontal line in your post. Save the post and open your blog. The post will be shown only till the break point on the home page.
About that JS, every I'm not sure if it can be done. I'll see and tell you after my exams get over.
OMG! Guess what! Ijust did what you said and checked my score again and from 38 it has gone upto 75 NOW! *tears of joy* WOW Ranjith you are COOOOOL! Thank you for coming back here! We missed our hero!
So, I ran a test with Google Pagespeed and GTmetrix, and seems both the reports are way different. While google Pagespeed service shows my blog's pagespeed as 25 and 68 for mobile and desktop, GTmetrix shows it as A (91% - Pagespeed Grade) and D (62%-YSlow Grade). I believe the one shown by google Pagespeed service is correct, because it lists a few JS and CSS's which might have a drastic impact on the page speed.
You can ignore YSlow grade if you are not using CDN otherwise 62% in YSlow is normal. Your Page Speed is Good.
Thanks Guys,
It was my very first post here and got good response. In optimizing my speed I finally got Good Page Speed Score in GTmetrix. Here is my result... http://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.gethow.org/Zl29cpdO and now feeling good that website is loading blazing fast even if their is hundred people online.
For a simple Overview Check out Your Score Here : https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/
For Detail Impacts Here With Page Speed and YSlow : http://gtmetrix.com
Hello Amar,
Your answer is, the faster web the more better user experiance. In today's world, no one like a website which just load and keeps loading for time. Thus Page Speed is a tool made by Google to analyse what is your speed score. You can check your score from official Google Page Speed or in GTmetrix also. GTmetrix gives better idea on how a website is optimized for speed.
85+ Score is Considered Good for Homepage and 70+ for Insidepages.
How to check the score?
Ok. I checked it. For mobile, it's 78/100, and for desktop, it's 83/100. I hope this score is ok.
